After the EOMM, I decided to take some photos of Carmen's car.

Its a shame I forgot my tripod, spare battery, spare memory card, and umbrella.

Pics are here:

Inner city.

Newtown, Marrickville and the suburbs near there have plenty of good graf.

I've gone past a couple of good spots. I'll shoot my car soon. I think a silver car would look better against that mostly-black background, but then my CF bits won't show up.

Some of it is visible off main roads, but its mostly laneways yeah.

You know where Stanmore Maccas is? If you go down the road that its on the corner of that isn't Parramatta Rd, there's a laneway on the right, near the end at the roundabout) that has some hektik looking graf.

I haven't stopped to have a long look, but it looks pretty groovy.

I also catch a train out that way sometimes, and when you look at the train graveyards between Redfern and Macdonaldtown there is some mad graf in there. I wish I could figure out how to get my car in there, as I see shiny vehicles near some of those spots so it must be accessible.

Bottom pic location is fantastic.

A little photoshop to get rid of the flash and make the car stand out and it will be a beaut!

Great photos Alan! And absolutely fantastic location... love the second backdrop but probably doesn't suit a black car so well as you say.

And I thought all the good graffiti was in Melbourne.

Graffiti as the name itself, is not an art, its the application... of a medium, to a surface,
i can show you graffiti such as the letters on the (train) car aback of me, is that an art?
I dunno, maybe.., im not an art critic, but i can sure as hell tell you its a crime.

Yeah, its especially lost in the Sin City one (which is mostly black, and the car is black).

I'm not a pro photographer, and I doubt I ever will be. As such, I can't really be bothered hiding the locations that much as exclusivity is not putting food on the table. I didn't give you a direct street number and the place where I took these shots is in a little alleyway that you'd be hard pressed to find unless you mistakenly wandered in there (like I did).

There's so much graf in this area that there's plenty to go around. I haven't explored all of Stanmore / Marrickville yet but I have found some pretty cool little laneways. What's also good for me, as a silver car owner, is that I finally found some places in the "industrial" areas in Marrickville that use earthy coloured bricks. Standard grey concrete / whitewashed walls that most carparks use blend in with my car's paintwork.

Maybe Kelvin can arrange another photato meet. We can meet at Stanmore Maccas (there are a couple of carparks on that side road with maroon roller doors I want to try shooting my car in front of) and go for a wander.

It is.

Its true.

A mate of mine had an E46 M3 convertible, and a photographer mate of his took some great shots in the inner city of Melbourne. Excellent graf on the walls, and the laneway itself was cobbled.

The guy brought proper lighting and the shots looked amazing.

Its what inspired me to go looking for graffiti-covered walls in Sydney.

I'll tell you what, though. I've never found random abandoned warehouses cum carparks that looked like this (http://www.au-z.org/gallery2/v/my350z/my350z_20071109_melbournecarpark/), in Sydney.
