31-08-08, 01:15 AM

Following up on our recent appointment as the exclusive Australian distributor for Works Bell, The Tuners Group is very proud to announce that we have been appointed as an official Australian dealer for AEM.

Similarly to The Tuners Group's pricing policy on Works Bell products, we intend to provide AEM products to Australian customers at or as close as possible to the prices which AEM gear sells for in the US, where AEM are based. :)

We are able to supply Australian customers with the full range of AEM products, and as an authorised AEM dealer, by purchasing from us you can be 100% assured that you are getting the genuine real deal product, backed by the manufacturer.

AEM has an outstanding well earned reputation in the US racing, drift and import scene.

At AEM, our mission is clear. We engineer products that outperform the competition, and create original product designs that revolutionize the industry.

We accomplish this through a strict commitment to thorough research and development and leading-edge manufacturing processes. We invest heavily in these processes, and take great strides to control every aspect.

The results of these efforts are a strong presence throughout the industry, and one that sends a clear, consistent message:

AEM products are Engineered To Outperform.

Some of AEM's innovative products include ...

AEM Serial Datastream Gauge

AEM’s Serial Gauge plugs into the company’s Programmable EMS and has the ability to read 19 channels simultaneously to provide reference for all outputs, including boost, AFR, EGT, H2O, IAT, knock, volts, RPM, vehicle speed, and more!

Since it can read all channels at once, AEM’s Serial Gauge eliminates the need to buy a cluster of gauges, or you can link multiple Serial Gauges together to monitor additional channels or to divide your readouts across a few gauges.

TRU-BOOST Gauge-Type Controller

AEM’s TRU-BOOST Gauge-Type Controller is an electronic boost controller that combines the simplicity of a manual boost controller with the added ease of adjusting boost levels through a gauge interface. There is no external interface required for set up, and it is fully functional right out of the box. There are no gimmicks or special software programs included.

If you want more boost press the button on the right of the gauge face, and if you want less boost press the button on the left of the gauge face. It’s that simple, and IT WORKS!

AEM Water / Methanol Injection Kit

The AEM Water / Methanol Injection Kit is universal by design and adapts to virtually any gas or diesel engine via multiple jets to suit your vehicle’s power requirements.

AEM’s Water / Methanol Injection Kit reduces air inlet temperatures and exhaust-gas temperatures, which allows you to increase boost pressure and advance timing without having to run higher-octane fuel. It’s like getting to run 100+ octane gas for the price of Premium!

AEM’s Water / Methanol Injection Kit includes all the features necessary to do water/methanol injection right. No hidden costs or optional components are required.

Unlike other popular kits on the market, we include a one- or five-gallon tank with a fluid level sensor standard. Also, because we think engine protection is a requirement, not an option, we include our Boost Safe output in every controller we design. This feature allows you to retard timing or reduce boost if the system runs out of fluid or detects an error. With the AEM Water / Methanol Injection Kit, you get all the best features in one low priced kit.

AEM Plug & Play Engine Management Systems

AEM's Plug & Play Engine Management System (EMS) are for racing vehicles and plug directly into a vehicle's factory ECU harness and requires no additional wiring or hardware. Windows™ compatible software (2000, XP, NT, 98, 95, ME) makes the task of copying, viewing and manipulating data as simple as a click of the mouse.

An integrated tuning wizard allows users to create a base map specifically for a car’s configuration, regardless of what type of injectors, sensors, coils or other changes have been made.

The AEM EMS's infinitely adjustable software allows tuners to program virtually any combination of engine control, power adders and auxiliary devices, and accurately delivers proper amounts of fuel and correct ignition timing for any boost level or operating condition.

AEM Fuel / Ignition Controller (F/IC)

Fuel and Ignition Controller for 4-to-8 Cylinder Racecar Applications

The AEM F/IC is an economical solution for controlling fuel and ignition on vehicles that do not require stand-alone engine management, including variable cam timing engines like VTEC, VVTi and MiVEC.

The F/IC gives users with OBD-II race vehicles and non-factory forced induction systems the ability to retard ignition and deliver accurate amounts of fuel without the need for outdated FMUs or “boost hiding” controllers.

This system works parallel to the factory ECU preventing tuning limitations due to complex factory timing patterns. 21x17 maps with configurable load and RPM breakpoints are easily accessed with the F/IC's Windows-based tuning software. The F/IC draws power from PC USB interface for quick and easy calibration changes.

Since the F/IC works in conjunction with the factory ECU, late model-vehicles equipped with a CAN-BUS system retain functionality of climate controls, dash and other components on the network.

The full range of AEM products will be added to our ordering system over the next few weeks, but if you want to order any of AEM's products from us in the meantime, you can find full product info at http://www.aempower.com then contact us via our contact page at http://www.tunersgroup.com/Contact_Us/ and we'll look after your AEM needs.

thats awesome

whats the pricing?

Just like our pricing on Works Bell products, our Australian pricing will be at or as close as possible to the prices that AEM gear sells for in the US, where AEM are based :)

We've worked very hard to negotiate excellent wholesale pricing for AEM products.

The kind of prices we'll be able to sell AEM gear for in Australia will mean that Australian customers can now get extremely high quality AEM ECU's with very high end features from us, for similar prices to what some other ECU's without those features are sold for.

It's a simple "get much more for your dollar" kind of deal.

I first met the guys from AEM at SEMA in the US a few years ago and have always been extremely impressed with the thinking behind their products, the quality of their gear, and their value for money.

Not many people realise it, but AEM's gear provides many of the high end features normally only found in very high end (high cost) ECU's, as standard features in AEM's ECU's. Like I said above, all features are enabled out of the box on AEM ECU's - so you never have to pay for upgrades or to enable optional features

This is AEM's Universal Engine Management System ...

You can find more info on it at

The built in feature list is awesome. That page reads ...

AEM’s Universal Programmable Engine Management System adapts to any race vehicle using the company’s flying lead wiring harness and sensors (sold separately). In addition to the features found in our Plug & Play EMS, AEM’s Universal EMS also includes 10 independent, built-in peak & hold injector driver channels, direct drive ignition and dual wideband UEGO controllers.

Peak & Hold injector drivers enable users to utilize low impedance injectors with a true 4/1 Peak & Hold injector drive circuit.

The Direct Drive ignition feature allows users to drive a coil directly from the ECU without the need for an igniter or ignition module, and a wideband UEGO controller is an essential tuning tool that provides a 0-5 signal for monitoring and tuning air/fuel ratios (AFR) on heavily modified high-performance engines.

System is fully enabled—Never pay for upgrades!
Runs on Windows™ compatible software
Live help window eases tuning process
Free software updates on aempower.com

Electronic boost control
Soft cut rev limiters
Two step launch control
Wet or dry nitrous control
Definable knock control
Full idle control

US retail pricing on it is $2,724.75. We'll be aiming for that price or as close as possible in Australia. If we can get it priced below standard US retail, we will :)

RiceBoy TV have also done a video about the AEM Universal Engine Management System. You can view it here ...

What really impresses me with AEM's products is that they design products like modifiers would themselves, rather than designing them with maximum sales dollars in mind.

Fuel table automapping is a perfect example - instead of having to pay for additional dyno time to build the fuel map, fuel table automapping lets the ECU build the map.

Less manual map building = less syno time = less $ in setup costs

The AEM ECU has an on-board wideband UEGO controller and definable knock control. AEM's site says "A wideband UEGO sensor controller accurately monitors Air/Fuel ratios (AFR) during the tuning process to prevent a lean fuel mixture, which could lead to engine damage." And the AEM ECU has dual wideband UEGO controllers built into the ECU as standard :)

Plus fuel table automapping is a standard feature on the AEM ECU - not an optional extra. All features are turned on and enabled out of the box :)

So instead of making you pay more to unlock fuel table automapping, and instead of making you buy a separate wideband UEGO controller, AEM build dual wideband UEGO controllers into the ECU as standard, and the ECU fuel table automapping is a standard feature on the AEM ECU.

As another example, they make a product called the AEM Serial Datastream Gauge ...

Their product info on it reads ...

You can find more info on it here ...

This part of it's abilities is awesome ...

The Serial Gauge includes a user-selectable LED display allowing users to set vehicle specific limits, warnings, display ranges and operating ranges.

This unit runs the standard EMS datastream by default, and includes 12 preset channels and seven user-selectable channels that are custom-configurable through the PC interface, allowing you to monitor practically anything attached to a sensor.

AEM’s Serial Gauge includes user-programmable MIN/MAX storage for EVERY channel and records MIN/MAX values even if you are not using the function—if it’s in the stream the gauge records it.

Red, yellow and green LEDs and the center three-digit display are fully user-programmable as well, making this a truly custom configurable unit.

Users can set alarms for each channel so that when the signal exceeds a value the Gauge notifies you by flashing all LEDs and switching to the channel where the value was exceeded.

User-selectable qualifiers eliminate false warning lights, and the unit includes two outputs to trigger ancillary warning lights based on user selectable conditions. The Serial Gauge also includes user-selectable alarm priority in the event multiple alarms sound, allowing you to set alarm readouts in your order of priority.

So instead of making 19 separate gauges and trying to sell you as many as possible, AEM developed this one gauge that replaces 19 separate gauges and replaces warning lights and alarms etc.

US Retail pricing on it is $349. Compare that to outfitting a car with all the gauges you need and it's a killer product that can save you a ton of $.

Thinking like that is why we were so interested in selling their gear in Australia.
