Did a bit Kung Fu and Goyu-Ryu-Karate for a few years. But I had to give up because I moved away and work in shifts now.

I tried a bit Iaido 3 years ago, but I stopped because the people there made me mad....:)

Havent touched it for 2 years almost but plan on going back this year to train for the uni games and also hit the tournament circuit and to go for my 3rd dan.

To think if I kept at it and didnt quit id be on my 4th dan by now :(

I did Taekwondo for 2.5 years. I was a red belt until I snapped once of the tendons in my ankle while in a tournament. I havn't been able to kick properly since so I gave it away.

When I go and visit the parents back in Nth Queenland I go and have a few training sessions with my old teacher

i was sort of expected to do TKD just like the rest of my family cause of my dad being heavily involved since he came to Australia
and my uncle being the director of ITF http://www.itfaustralia.com.au/aboutus/master_michael_bou_daher.htm

i did it for a couple years then i went overseas and never went back into it

My uncle used to teach pak mei kung fu...

If that sounds familiar... its based on an actual dude that lived centuries ago and had a cameo appearance in kill bill 2 (the old dude that was "the bride"s teacher)

http://www.pakmeikungfu.com/Pak%20Mei(White%20Eyebrow).htm

Did bits and pieces as a kid, not as hard core as some others in this forum!

Just found another link that goes into the history of this style:

http://www.peimeikungfu.com/home.php?lang=eng&page=&rub=7

Apparently this pei mei dude was an evil mofo and took on the big daddy mac of Shaolin and won!

if u do it for long enough it can be... my cousin started karate when he was 14 by the time he was 20 he had fought in 6 countries and won some world titles!! if u put ur mind to it its great.

a few yrs ago 5ppl tried to rob him at an atm a couple with knifes and stuff, they all ended up knocked out  it can be used for real situations u just nee to be very good. ;)

i tried to do it but my memory is up the duff and i couldnt remember all the technical stuff so he told me to do kick boxing as its more suited to me:)

has anyone seen that national geographic documentary called 'fight science', awesome science vs martial arts where they use crash test dummy technology to see which martial art is the best
