How the heck is that 1:1 scale? Aren't Gundam suits huge? Like Macross valkyries?

Anyway, when are you buying it? I know you will. You'd take out a loan to get this

Anyone got a spare 350k?

has released a 30 million yen Gundam (appx. $260,000 USD). This gundam is made of platinum, and is 125mm (4.9") tall and weighs 1.4kg (3lbs). The head contains 0.15 karat diamonds. The gundam will be on display at the Swiss Basel World 2007 Expo next month.

a few places in akiba have the same model/same price tag but they were about as tall as me (6ft).
they looked more like a solid construction than piece together like this one.

epic none the less

1:1 SCALE!

http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/apu/rv_img/article_rv_adam_02_01.jpg

I've always wanted a 1:1 scale model of the Matrix APU ;)

No photoshop in that photo - as it says here ...

http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/apu/rv_cmp/article_rv_adam_02.html ...

Ultimately one full size, fully detailed articulated APU was constructed. It stood over 4 meters tall and weighed 3 tonnes.

It could be disassembled for transport and for achieving certain visual effects shots; for example, when the guns are firing the arms were removed so CG arms and guns could be added to the live action footage. A shaking mechanism added interactive arm and shoulder gun recoil movement.

A second “carriage” was built to fit a SFX supplied motion base for shots involving close ups of the actors operating the APU. The motion base was programmed to match animation of CG APUs. A second, but lighter urethane foam APU was built for scenes showing a downed and heavily damaged APU on set.

That looks a bit like the one in Robocop, except minus the guns and much more retarded...hehe

I just know the Japanese are obsessed with Mecha/suits etc. and are just waiting for the day that they perfect one and try and win back some of the lost war respect...
