UPDATE 4/10/07

Finally! Engine is in and last Saturday got the car tuned.

There are afew lil bits and pieces left to tweak like my new suspension but its all working well. Will try to chase high 12's down the 1/4 and see how fast it is around the track :) asap

Must say a Big thanks to alot of people for help on this project..

JDMyard: Yonas, Zi and Marc aka Badhbt
Westside Mufflers: Brad and Beau
TopOne: Dedy
My Brother Chris for Towing etc yada
+ any body else who may have helped

Pictures:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b339/kawasaki_au/GSC_0019.jpg

We did two runs at the end, one with filters and one without. End result was a difference of 4kw.

Engine bay is abit cleaner than below thanks to Marc but pic's are on a different camera.

UPDATE 17/04/07

Just got my new wheels put on and decided to take some pics :)

SSR Reverse Mesh 15x6.5 4x114.3 +20 with Yokohama S-drives.

Mega thanks to Zi and Yonas @ JDMyard for the wheels and tyres and also thanks to Top One Automotive for their excelent job at rolling/flaring my rear!

.................................................. .................................................. .............................

I almost gave up on this car many times due to availability of parts but I couldn't walk away from it. This is mainly thanks to Yonas and Zi @ JDMyard, my brother Chris + Brad and the team at Westside Mufflers for all their custom fab work.

Firstly to start things off my custom made camber kit from Westside which is based off the skunk2 designs. It was either this or pay $900 for a Japanese one (if it wasn't discontinued already :P)

lol thats max lowerage :( because im running eg6 cusco zero2's and they are 1"longer at the front + I wouldn't have any clearance if it was lower :D.

When we put the camber kit on at first we would have had around 5+ deg of negative camber and looks kinda crazy hehe

thanks for your comments ppl

need abit more testing with the camber kit before i will think of lowering it anymore as on really hard bumps, even when my cusco zero2's are turn up to 3, something hits... im thinking its the camber kit hitting the wheel arch.

I may need to go back to 4x100 :( as the 4x114.3 conversion changed alot of things.

Swap is easy, just get complete knuckles from a 96 spec JDM ITR and swap them over.

i think they only provide a rear camber kit, which isnt even an arm. its a longer camber bolt with a few shims to adjust the camber.

lol....

I took it for a quick drive after westside had finished with and its very quiet, possibly thanks to my exhaust, below 3000rpm. Personally I don't give a rats about fuel economy if I was concerned I would not have build my engine but I think it also depends on the tuner.

Basically you will need...

Headlights + Corner lights
Bonnet
Bumper + Indicators
Filler piece
Raditor Support

Fedders are the same so no need to change. You will have to fiddle but from what I can gather this might be the only serious problem you'll run into http://www.ef-honda.com/main/viewtopic.php?t=614

I love your car man. Makes me think about modding my old ef too, but too busy working on my dc2r atm. Damn, you must have spent some serious $$$. Respect your passion; that thing is a beast! EF's are so sweet and balanced. I still enjoy driving mine and its all stock except for the CRX exhaust. Amazing cars well ahead of their time.

Well it's been a long while since I started this latest ED\EF project.

With work taking up most of my time then getting married, faulty parts delaying me and changing my mind the timeline for this build has blown out.

The car is in the final stages of the build, just tidying up loose ends for engineering.

Lets recap with some pics.

...
..
.

I've had three ED\EFs now, a 88, 90 and 91. The 90 with the B18 was going to become the chassis for the K swap but had been cut and shut at the front and so the 90 was destroyed and replaced with the 91.

Stock as a rock.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b339/kawasaki_au/DSC_0124.jpg

The new chassis felt a million times better than the last one so I was happy I decided to purchase a new chassis.

The old engine was removed and the K was put in place.

The car took a journey to Westside to start all the fab work.

Ready for the new radiator support.

Now moving closer to the present.

I had a leaking reservoir line to the pedal box and this destroyed the paint in the pedal box cut out and started some surface rust. Purchased myself some Por15 and went to work.

More updates.

I have to raise the car for engineering due to the exhaust but then discovered some rust sections which were caused by a fire event a while ago :-) but thats all i'll say. So time to clean it up and remove some weight at the same time.

Yuk.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b339/kawasaki_au/IMG_3763.jpg

The car is too loud as well and I don't like the idea of using something like a varex as I will loose power with it closed... hopefully this muffler will fix the noise issue while keeping the 3".
