the question is, whats more fun to drive? the rx7 or ur m3?

We Drove Both cars One after another on the Old Pac few Nights back. The RX7 is alot more fun drivng in straight lines. But as the car is now, it DOSEN'T COME CLOSE to the M3.

Once i get the mods on Me and My brother are taking both of them back there to have a run or two. We both think mid corner the M3 has the FD owned, but exiting and striaght the FD will win (ofcourse).

And the M3 is Faster in a Straight Line, the RX7 Still got Limiter, so i clocked out at 180km, and the M3 clocked at 260km.

Oh and is that black M3 yours? Im not sure which car I like better!
Yeah the M3 is mine aswell had it for nearly 2 and bit years now. Now my brother uses it since his got that Non Turbo rule.

Thanks Everyone, for the kind words.

I'll hopefully have new pics up end of this month, just waiting for the container to arrive from japan.

Awesome! Love the FD. One suggestion I would add to your list of upgrades is to upgrade the Air-Separation Tank in the radiator system to a metal one. Lots of FDs have been cooked due to this substandard part breaking.

Did an apex seal break?

Babalouie
07-04-07, 10:41 AM
I was just wondering if the apex seal took out the turbo (doesn't matter in your case of course) :) Just goes to show that rotaries never really die, they just go to sleep while their owners come up with crazy plans :)

Chin up mate, this'll be you soon:

You got some pretty grand plans and good to see you haven't neglected the chassis. I've been wanting to get a series 8 rx7 but just not sure about its reliability. Is the engine really that temperatmental? And is it normal to see so much surface rust on a car of this age?

If your worried about engines being "temperamental", then the 13b turbo is defiantly not for you.

The go boom, quicker than any other JDM engine.

With RX7's, you have to be willing to rebuild engine straight away on purchase, or at least huge service.

Otherwise, you could be cruising home one night from work and... loss of power, weird sound, and stall. Seems like your fuel pump has just gone, until 2weeks later you realize it's the beginning of the rest of your lift and your building a 60grand rotary.

It's just surface rust, from the cage install. The metal filings from cutting/grinding/welding etc. It's not actual "rust" you could rub it off with your finger.

Awesome car!

One query though - you said your brother is driving the M3 because of the P-Plate non-turbo laws..

You can't drive a M3 either....

:S

^You can drive a V6 engined vehicle but nothing more than that
so if its a V6 then he can drive it, but if its a V8 he *can't* lol

don't know what engine configuration his M3 is so i cant say for sure if he can or can't.

but yeah, amazing car man, rims looked great in white

:S

The looop hole's with RTA laws...

Car's which aren't on list, which are faster then most on it...

Lotus Exige (non-supercharge)
BMW 330ci
Honda S2000
BMW E30 M3
Mazda RX8
Honda DC2/5 Type R
+ most civic conversion with massive v-tech motors! v-tech FTW!!

That's why I had the 330ci, and drive the M3. Always wanted a S2000, but couldn't ever commit.

Now, hopefully a lotus is on the cards! but got to work very very very x20 hard first. haha

Not true.

There is a whole amount of selected "high-powered" 6cylinders.

Honda NSX, BMW e36/e46 M3, 350z + few others

where is this work getting done? at home?

uknowsergio
28-05-08, 02:28 PM
Mostly been done at workshops. thanks so far to... JDM Yard, Redline Rotary, Westside Mufflers, AAI Motorsport

It's just going to live at home for a while, for us to finish off some things which we can do here. Also, give us time to save money for the next phase!

Whats left is:

Cooling system (oil coolers, v-mount, dry sump)
Fuel System (pumps, rc injectors, rails etc)
Electrical (ECU, CDI, Core Packs, Switch Board, Dash)
Body (Kelvar widebody)

Basically...

Anyone want to donate? lol

Pretty much that's it going to look like. Only changes would be the Custom Vented Bonnet, Sponsors Stickers, and the rear fender is going to be modified a bit to fit.

The car still has rego, I'll drive it on the weekends and to track days.
