Hey guys,

Just been browsing around for another 250cc bike to ride on. I currently own a cbr250rr tri color, i have looked at kawasaki ninjas but i dont like the riding position.

Which brings me to my question. The Hyosung GT250R seems like a great bang for buck buy (used). I have done abit of research and Im aware that the bike does have some issues but these have seen to be ironed out in the later models.

I remember a fellow forumer on here had bought one? just after some reviews on this bike. Are they really duds or a decent bike to buy?

Mines perfectly fine, and IMO they are the best 250 out there, decent size, look great they're a twin so they got mid range.

And yes they had a few issues at the begining but now they've been ironed out, alot of the engine parts are derived from Suzuki so they have to be half decent!

what kind of issues did you have SFS?

Well put it into perspective a cbr250rr is a 15yo bike and god knows the history of those bikes...So i guess a newer 'korean' bike cant be half bad lol

I havn't had any issues at all mate, I had a bit of brake squeel from the rear brakes but only for a couple hundred km then it went. Besides that its great i'm 6"3 and its the perfect size for me unlike a weiny lil cbr lol.

Nothing wrong with a Hyosung 250... there cheap for a reason.. quality. How much you spend and what you get in return is entirely up to you...

I'd go a RVF400 if possible, other then that I'd say stick to your CBR and the 12 months won't be as long as you first thought!

Enjoy the gtr in the meantime lol

Why do you want another bike if you already have the CBR dude?

CBR is a LOT more capable as a sports bike. Just depends on what you want from the bike i guess

having ridden most 250s around i was very displeased with da hyosung, something just didnt feel right with the power delivery and the build quality of the bike. id say stay away from it but thats just me and knowing alot of people that has had that bike and hearing only negative comments from them makes me favour a thrashed 15 year old mc22 over da gt250 anyday. thats just me tho.

Hyosungs sound hot, but weighs too much. Its a good bike for those over 5"8..

doesnt the kim chi have alot of issues and is very tempermental. look after it , hope for the best and it will be fine or fall apart. Dont look after it then it will, again, fall apart. i know they have imporved alot since they first came out but some korean or asian cars are just bodge. ie the good old malaysian icon, proton.

maybe as someone else stated , go rvf400. i was about to. but had last minute change of mind. =[ . team moto virginia QLD have a nice black grey one with Tyga kit. $7000 delivered to the nearest TeamMoto in your area. sounds a bit pricey for age etc, but with kit and dealership fee....

But u stated you are after a newer bike. hmm. gd luck anyways. if not just keep cb until something tickles your fancy.

you should enjoy the gt250r it has very good torque delivery and can practically lift the front wheels without having to dump the clutch

i wouldnt pay 7k for an rvf400, add an extra 2k on top and you can pick up a cbr600rr 07, or pay 7k for an 03-05 model

Take off in first normally when you get it going a bit back off to dip the suspension and crack it again as the suspension is rising. I used to be able to do little ones on my NSR, couldn't maintain them though. also keep your body position in mind, moving to the back of the seat helps alot too

I had the 250R, great bike. The V-Twin sounds awesome. They've just had a facelift as well. Well, a buttlift. Fuel Injection now too, which is a big thing.

i was riding to work and some guy pulled up on it at the lights, as he took off front wheel went up, not a lot but it did go up, next set of lights looked at his bodywork, and told him that had some good torque for a 250

tai9a - yeah thats true, forgot about the new laws tho but it doesnt bother me as im already on my fulls

but the rvf's are still a pricey bike for something 15 years old

lucky you. oh well i wont be getting a bike no more i dnt think. just stick with the car. yeh it is rather pricey , but i guess your really paying for the kit. Still looks bloody nice. Im sure some bargaining skills may help lower the price.

FLY are u selling the Hyo already . lol. your just as bad as my mate..

just putting it out 'there', if it sells it sells. If not I shall keep riding it.

I dont find it as fun as the cbr for some reason? perhaps I should write a mini review comparing the 2 bikes?

Be a good idea, just remember i'm 6'4, CBR would be crap for me IMO so I needed something bigger :P
