Hi Everyone,

Need some recommendation between a few different 250cc bikes out on the market.

Currently riding a kawasaki zx2 at moment and cbr250rr, I've noticed these 2 bikes ride very differently in terms of handling anyways. Was thinking about biting the bullet and buy a newish bike like the new ninja's. Comments from owners with the new ninja's will be good.

Just need to know how they handle, maintence etc, is it worth the money.

Thanks
Perry

IMO, if you have that much money to spend on a LAMS bike why not just go buy the RVF400 that was posted in the other thread?

Its alot better than the ninja....

there is also honda cb400, cbr125r, suzuki gsxf650, sv650, drz400sm that you can think about.

fark the ninja. buy a RS125 if the bikes just for fun!

of course the owners of new ninjas would say its good.. cause chances are they havent owned another bike for a long period of time. RVF400 would be great as well if you can justify the price

Don't get a cbr125 thing wouldn't blow you hat off in the wind down a hill, but I guess most 250s are like that eh? lol

Theres always the Hyosung GT250r/650r alot of people bag em but I own one and its great to ride, the new model also has fuel injection goodness now!

I could justify the price of a decent LAMS bike, for 1 or now 3 years for sure, you'll lose bugger all on them if they are decent, they hold their value so well. I'd be looking at an RVF400 or a CB400, or like dan said a an RS125, 2 strokes aren't as bad as people make out to live with and they are awesome to ride (excluding freeways) I did about 15000k on my NSR150SP, make sure you use good oil and fuel and check the plug from time to time and they are sweet as, top end rebuilds are cheap and quick too.

I wouldn't bother with a ninja, there is nothing special about them, old bike, new body. there is nothing wrong with them and they are probably a great bike, but far from the best choice when it comes to LAMS imo.

A 250 4cyl will have about 40hp and will be a good ride if they are looked after, the CBR125 is gutless, 11kw or so....

FI is good if it works well, there is nothing wrong with carbs though.

Ah with the new laws you'll be restricted on the 250 for 3 damns years lol (or maybe it was 2)

I would go an RVF400 or just stick with your CBR250RR

I own a new 250r. The only disadvantage I have about this bike is the power. It seems to kick in above around 6krpm but I reckon from jumping off a cbr250rr to the new ninja u'll feel a difference in power. Honestly if you gonna be on your P's for 3 yrs i would go the rvf400.

Yea stick it out for 1 yr i reckon or else u'll end up selling the 250 and gettin a 600 or 1000 which is a waste of money.

Its not hard to guess what happens if your riding/driving something you aren't licensed for

Cant understand why youd want a 250r if you already have a zx2 and a cbr250?? It doesn't make sense lol. Wait till you get your full licence!

Just want something new thats all i guess comparing the 2 bikes the zx2 has better bottom end oppose to the cbr. ANyone know the 250 ninja's are the same compared to the zx250's?

The new 250 Ninja has less power than the ZXR250.

26.4 hp @ 11000 rpm & 13.6 ft·lb (18.4 N·m) @ 9,750 rpm for the 250 Ninja

45 hp (33.6 kW) @ 16000 rpm & 18.07 ft·lbf (24.5 Nm) @ 11500 rpm for the ZXR250
