i was watching Top Gear Australia the other night and liked the whole arse end of a car converted to a lounge idea and have decided with a mate to make one for another mates weding prezzie

so im on the hunt for a decent rear of a car
im open for anything for now and will narrow down my options soon as i get some.

prefer holden as mate is a holden boy but again anything will be considered

regards

MR2 engines usually come in rear cuts because the engine is in the middle/back

Just try to get one before the people doing the conversion go ape shit on it and start hitting it with breaker bars...

ahh kool!!
good point
though im not sure if the arse of a MR2 will suit the project,
cause its too narrow a car.

Thing is to do it right you'll want a big old car back seat like a kingswood or something, and a big old car rear seat will most definitely need a retrim.

i think you may have the wrong impression dude. we're turning the boot into a couch so that it looks something like this:

Make it out of a hatchback but keet the tailgate attached, that way you can have a couch during the day and a nice enclosed sleeping pod at night

in memory of MJ right? lol
i spoke to my partner in crime just than and he even thought about using the front of a car.... which might even be easier and will look a lot more recognizable.
i even thought of bed heads. but i dnt wanna jump to ahead of myself i need the shell first

Ah I was thinking Top Gear UK.

The back of the car method I think only really works if you have a big garage, you wouldn't have that shit inside your house, takes up too much room.

Yeh but why go through all that effort/money when you can do it with a pre shaped car?
