View Full Version : My CC Coupe, aka "Street Sleeper" // 4G63T powered Lancer

Hey as some of you know i picked up a new car recently off a mate of mine. Hard work has been done for me (yes i know i cheated) but it still has alot of potential.

It started life as a 1.8l glxi lancer coupe until a 4G63T VR4 engine found its way into the engine bay, now along with the engine it sports a high flow EVO III exhaust manifold, TD05 but with a larger EVO III exhaust housing, 500Hp Walbro fuel pump, 450cc Injectors, custom stainless steel exhaust (including dump pipe, 3' exhaust, 2' wastegate). It is using a Aus-Spec VR4 ECU which has been chipped and bayed which enables adjustability for tuning. It had the cylinders honed about 30k klm ago and some stronger EVO III pistons installed along with some other odds and ends. Nice big front mount as well with stainless steel pipe work.

Front and rear strut braces are in there as well, along with lowered shocks ad springs and a front sway bar. All Ralliart engine mounts have been used as well.

ATM the engine is still running stock boost of around 8-10psi as the previous owner never installed a boost controller as he never had any need for it seeing as tho it has run a best of [email protected] on street tyres. Link to vid can be found in my sig.

The future plans for this, within the next month it shall be getting a EVOIII gearbox with new K mount and crossmember to get rid of this cars weakest link....the 1.8L glxi stock gearbox :( ,once that is in its time to start adding more boost in the ways of a 2 stage controller with 1st and 2nd gear receiving 8-10psi and 3rd, 4th and 5th getting 16-18psi. Also on sunday i installed a Apexi SAFC-II, the seats from the old mirage, GREDDY nylon gearknob and K&N air filter.

First thing im hopefully getting done this weekend is to paint the FMIC and the visible pipework flat black in an effort to make it less noticable.

Anyway enough chit chat, time for some pics, its not the best looking car around but it does the job.

P.S Sorry about the poor quality pics, im no good with pictures hopefully someone with skills does a photoshoot soon i can tag along to......please :)

12's is very impressive, i like it alot!! :)

A very sleepy sleeper for sure! You sure you gonna further boost it?? Grip will be a big problem for that car.

07-03-07, 06:15 PM
Bloody hellfire, that's quick....

07-03-07, 06:52 PM
You sure you gonna further boost it??

Yes, i will be giving it alot more boost once the new, less-destructable gearbox is in, but i will only turn up the boost for the higher gears (3rd 4th and 5th)

Grip will be a big problem for that car.

It already is

I remember this car, back when it had the side mount still in it, it was still quick then, I remember running it in my old 4AGTE Sprinter

hehehe small car big engine :) very nice

22-03-07, 07:41 PM
Ran it on the dyno today, must say im disapointed not so much at the power figure but the car was sitting for ages, the intercooler was warm to say the least they had the fan on it for lie 10sec then proceeded to run it :( . Anyway ill live.

Got 141.2Kw @ wheels on 9psi

I was happy that the afr was good, but could do with some fine tuning, runs a bit rich down low, and the boost was pretty damn flat sat on 9psi most of the time.

All and all im rather happy........bring on 20psi

22-03-07, 08:02 PM
nice should be a monster on 20psi say goodbye to traction in 4th lol

22-03-07, 09:12 PM
more boost less cones

sounds like a winning equation to me marc! haha

22-03-07, 11:17 PM

I've gotta see this car in all it's gearbox-shattering glory.....
