Just came back from Canberra today , headed down this morning to find a few HWP up ahead and a ute with it's side slammed in , we were diverted just before but it appears a bike has hit the side of the ute , which was turning right to head north. Must of been sitting on a huge speed to make the impact it did. AFAIK the rider died instantly anyone got more info on the lead up to this ?
A few truckies said he ( the bike ) was chased for awhile but they stopped and this happened

I've got a friend who lives just out of Golburn, she lives near the freeway, she claimed she heard 2 road bikes going flat out on the freeway, about 20 mins later her hubby who's a HWY cop had rang her telling her of this horrific acident that just happened. I was told the guy (off the bike) was found nearly 100m away for the accident (died instantly). Not good, especially with the other fatalities on the OP. I feel sorry for the poor families and there losses, especially the mothers. Not a great way to be reminded of Mothers Day.

wow, so no matter how bad the situation looks you'd better of arrested than dead at the end of the day.

never know what was going thru his head ? Perhaps the adrenalin rush of the chase mixed with the possible alcohol ingested ( his friend was over the limit apparently )

imagine the cops/ambo's how they feel

and lets not forget the family.

RIP to the rider.

Higher chances of getting away if you run on a bike though, so don't blame his decision, just hope it wasn't made whilst under the influence.
