all jokes aside man, its a great looking car in a great colour. Just make sure you get in and out of those seat properly, it is possible to destroy them in a week by bieng careless!

Always left foot in, right hand on door sill and lower yourself in. Getting out - hand on sill again and perhaps use the steeing wheel to hoist yourself out. Avoid touching the right bolster

i would love to visit the JDM boys... I havent seen them for ages, but unfortunately i got things on. Just tell him to set it to the high I have it to. it's perfect for everyday stuff. I scrap every now and then. But nothing too crazy. As long as i'm not screwing up the expensive stuff it's fine. :)

Needs more DC5 innit. :P

Interesting that Trust oil cooler for DC2 and DC5 are mounted in completely different places. Mine is mounted to chassis rail on O.S. behind air duct in front bar. I keep airflow to radiator but lose it to brakes.

Where's your oil filter sit on a B18C Davey?

Dave R
22-12-07, 06:46 PM
Thanks guys for the comments! havnt posted any pics for so long of the car...

m0nty the filter sits next to the battery as u can see in the last pic i posted (blue honda oem filter) but now i am using HAMP oil filters which are smaller and increase my oil pressure which is good as a loose a little bit from the oil cooler...

What's the difference? I haven't got a gauge to monitor it on mine. Any idea on how much pressure you have when going through fish hook @ WP? And what's oil temp difference now? I assume your cooler is same size as mine.

Dave R
22-12-07, 06:54 PM
ummm i havnt really been looking at my oil pressure when on the track :S lol.. i just have it set that it will start 2 beep and go crazy if it drops below 1.2KPA or woteva it is measured in :P lol

as for oil temp i was reaching 130'c at oran park.. i havent done Oran park since but at wakefield park i dont think i was going over 115'C or so...

If it were a full track car I'd say yes. But it's a bit much for a street driven car. Later, Davey... plenty of time to be garish on the track.

Why would u put green on a car with red already on it...

Red Seats, Red Badge, Red Stickers...

IMHO Green would look tacky and out of place and wouldn't belong...

But hey that's just my opinion!

Cleaned out my car :P

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r95/DCR_88/rearrr.jpg
stripped most the rear out (bar the side panels) notice my new rear strut! car weighs 1170kg with full tank of fuel and me (lets say im the 70kg) :P

Will soon have pics with stickers from sponsors on it... Will look cool :P

also as it is a workshop i had a AWESOME deal worked out for fitting of my clutch, flywheel and timing belt :D (plus work wouldnt let me use hoist for big jobs such as the ones stated above :()

WIil have a cage soon and most likely a hondata system.. im looking at cracking 1:09s at wakefield park as i know it is possible...

Hope 2 see some of u guys next month start up in the nsw cams supersprints.. its where u should be if u r in 2 more competitive track (supersprints)

Cheers Dave

Dave R
05-05-08, 08:53 PM
ok guys, Time to own up..

i have been a bit quiet lately (except for maybe that ignition dvd incident) :P LOL

but yer time to tell you guys whats happaning with the car...

As some of you may have seen i participated in a amazing event at Bathurst, Mt Panorama, and this gave me the taste of Motor Sport (although i already was in to it, but it made me see the light)

So i am beggining a major transformation for my car, yep thats right i am turning it in to a race car (mind you nothing like Sams (Monty) as i dont have a budget any where near his :P as i am only a 2nd yr mechanic apprentice)

So i am going 2 try as hard as possible to keep you guys as updated as possible..

The other day i just ordered a Cobra Evolution Race Seat, and bought a Willians 6 point harness, and i will be having a 6 point cage fitted from the guys from bonds roll cages in the coming weeks, and i have had my PC licence for a couple of months now.....

Car will be participating in supersprints, Targa's (road rallys) and time attack events and whatever racing i can get in to (car will be set-up to IPRA specs but it is a bit expensive for me to be racing in at this point in time - this will change in the next few years)...

As For my aim of cracking 1:09's in my car i am almost there :P as at round 2 of NSW CAMS SS i did a 1:11.5 in some average track conditions and i am more the happy with my progress :)

good on you dave getting out there and giving it a go and all on 2nd year wages!!!!!

Dave R
05-05-08, 09:39 PM
its a sport (if u can call it a sport?) that i really do love, and cant imagine not participating in...

as for 2nd year wages, it does make it a battle, but being able 2 work on the car alot myself does help and working with some real great guys that want to help me (as well as teach me) and having great sponsor's that help out considering i am only really entering the Motor Sport scene.

yup competing shits on lapping days its been killing me not racing something this year

Dave R
05-05-08, 09:52 PM
well, racing is alot more expensive then competing in sprints and such, but sprints are alot more fun then open track days.. but racing is a completely different league, is a shit load of fun.. i just cant afford to have lots of panel damage and such, and from remember my first proper grid start race i did, i am fairly aggressive :P haha

4agte
05-05-08, 09:55 PM
lol im pretty agressive on the starts and i only bent a front wing in a whole season and that was hitting some apex tyres but then again you have to be aggresive on the starts its the 3rd easiest way to make up places behind qualifying on pole and having someone dnf infront of you and front wings are easy to replace well easier than fenders ahahah

Dave R
10-05-08, 08:29 PM
thanks mate... atm i am very happy with my times, and they can only get better :D as for Eastern Creek it is only my 2nd time (1st in the DC2R though) and hope for mid-low 50's... my main goals are aimed at wakefield park as it is a track that most ppl can relate to (and i cant really use Oran park as we dont know how long its gona be around for :() so for wakefield park i hope to be getting down to 1:10s and below, as i am already hitting 1:11's consistently (mind you the weather wasnt at its best - damp track) which i am happy with (and in better track conditions i can cut a fair bit of that)
