The stock Exige engine I believe is Toyota's 2ZZ which is found in the Corolla Sportivo's and newer Celica's...

I owned a Sportivo and must say that the DC5R > Sportivo

the 2ZZ isn't a bad engine itself, but i can see why the K20 is much preferred in such a lightweight shell. Heres a video i found on youtube, dunno if its a true K20, but the PRAAHHHHH is there.

Its a damn corolla :D what do you expect :D

But then, even the same engined Celica can't keep up. For some reason, Toyota priced their Celica the same as a DC2R/DC5R, but yet missed out on half the car (Recaro seats, LSD & etc)

The mackie brothers have/have owned some awesome cars. At one stage they owned 3 or 4 elises. They used(each) own the only 2 road registered motor bike powerd clubmans. Hiyabusa engine ~200hp+ in a 400kg car. Awesome!

the one justin posted looks like the series one exige in that case it has the rover motor which isnt nearly as good as the toyota motor they had alot of headgasket problems and the cranks tend to snap if the car is abused

the 1st gen exiges look better imho espec in black with black rims same goes with the 1st gen elises

I had the pleasure of riding shotgun in a S2 Exige 240R Cup last weekend (Walkie's Dad's). They rock. Hard.

When the throttle gets mashed not only do you get pushed into the seat but you cop an ear full of supercharger whine (cause the thing sits a few inches behind your right ear). Awesomely awesome stuff.

Yes, around 35 - 40k. Kelvin (wraith/eggbox) almost got one. But the Rover engine within seems to have quite abit of problem as advised by lotus s1 owners. Hence, its good if you can buy the s1 and transparent a k20/k24 in it :D
