Alright so recently I've spotted something that has caught my eye, I'm very interested in the shakotan, boso style..

Anyways what I'm after is some help with some info on a helmut.

Something much like this, I've tried some search's on google, yahoo auctions japan...

I'm not sure if I'm even searching for the right thing..

Any help would be great..

You can get them in japan in most car shops. Seen them in Autobacs etc. Pretty cheap, but wont pass at any Australian track if you're planning on using it.

yeah, i have 3 of them

they are motorbike helmets up to 125cc

i used to slide in mine untill the track got stricter with helmets, pretty much all tracks require you to have an aus. std's sticker on your helment

they are Generally painted up in different styles. that one in the back of that YonMeri (C110 skyline) has a typical paint sachem of Mt Fuji with the rays emanating from behind it. its more common on a white helmet with red beams but yeah.

they also match the paint to the bike/cars as well.

you can get them from Donkey (AMAZING store in japan) for as little as 3,000 yen for the basic ones but they can be up to 20k for the full painted ones.

or you can buy an Aust helmet that meets Aust standards and you can actually use it at the track.

then take it to some place that does helmet painting and pay them whatever they want to do the job.

Donqueote or Donkey as xsoarerx mentioned is the place to get them.. They are cheap as but don't take any form of impact well. They are cheap, thin, flimsy and available easily in Japan. Ask Jesse Streeter if he can obtain you one, ke knows the score.

err... they do take abit of a hit. ive hit my head a few times on a roll cage in my car and its fine. i mean, there for upto a 125cc motorbike. i ware mine riding BMX now, its sweet as:P

but yeah, unless your really into Zokusha and want that extra trinket for your car then i'd prob give it a miss and grab one you can actually use.

Hmm... now im considering getting one for when I'm hitting the touge on my huffy slider.....

My friends in Tokyo at AFG Moto (www.agfmoto.com) are motorcycle gear dealers. Jason the partner speaks English obviously and can chase down that kind of thing and ship it if you're after it. They're also right up the street from Ricoland who I believe sell those helmets.
