Yeah, I was thinking a similar thing lilthug, fonzzy parked behind me so the back end of my car is in plenty of the photos, not on purpose of course :P

roflcakes, if you want photo's of your car or your specific interest taken, go buy yourself a camera, take the shots yourself and post them up...

for the record, I prefer NO photo's of my car, I care how much pleasure it gives me to drive it, not what it looks like on the outside.

so its alright to take photos of chicks on the beach????? i dont think so...

For the record, On a moral basis, no it's not alright. Legally, it's perfectly fine. (And before you ask, yes, I know what I'm talking about)

Farken hell. Heaps of clowns getting their undies in a bunch about a comment that just started out as a simple observation that everyone takes photos of the same cars and there is no diversity. Sounds like the scene in Oz is full of elitist stuck up retards. Or maybe it's just that you all drive the same sort of cars. Hope you don't beat down on the guys/girls that choose to be a bit different. But from my POV it looks like there's only about 10 of the same cars showing up to your meets.

I personally don't give a shit if you guys "don't have the time to take photos of everyones cars" because as you've said, you aren't there as a photographer, you are there to socialise - your choice, whatevs - but I'm SURE some people are there to photograph and I'm sure with the mass amounts of shit blogs popping up (mine included) there is someone running around trying to cater to the small time grassroots people (real car scene IMO). I guess they haven't found this fantastically supportive forum.

The little guys have to be represented. And that's the point i'm trying to get across. It's a huge turn off reading through these pages and even through magazines, where the only thing they feature is big budget builds. It's only telling new people to the scene that you need deep pockets to build a cool car, which is rubbish. With some basic mods, you can make your nans civic look and drive a whole lot better, and it's a cool car (in some circles hah).

But, do as you please. Keep playing soggy biscuit over the same old cars published over and over again. Hell, all the photos are the same from every meet, so you may as well not meet up and see what everyone is doing, you may as well just take some pics of your cars in your drive way, post them up and wank on about them online. Wouldn't make a difference and it means you wouldn't have to pay for gas.

good one guys.

mmmm i think one of the points I'm trying to get across, is that nobody else gets to see what's going on in the scene in your area - and with meet ups and reports and photos like this - aren't you trying to show people what is happening in your area?

If I (or anyone else) wanted to look at the car I own, I could go and sit in the garage... you don't need a camera for that.....

I think the problem was your initial comment with a "yawn" is the annoyance.

boohoo if your car doesn't get posted, maybe there is a reason...how about giving the photographer a reason to take a pic of your car. How about this? because this is a meet, introduce yourself to the photographer...maybe it is easier to take a photo of your car if the photographer knows you. People takes pics of cars because the is a reason....they like it, stock or not, or maybe because you gave the time to introduce yourself and be friendly - it is a meet in the first place.

So Bwarp, before you make any judgement try figuring out why people got their undies bunched up by starting at your initial comment. or better yet, come up to Australia. as IMHO, you kinda present yourself as a wank.

LOL Shane! I dont care what photos are taken. I just turn up to the even look at the cars myself, talk to people, and keep an eye on the cars I want to know more about. Not to mention keeping in touch with those members to watch their cars progress. No need for photos here. I thought the meets were about meeting people and their cars, not photo shoots.

@ RE99IE - Are you all really childish enough to take offence out of '*yawn*'? I wouldn't think you are. Even if I edited that part out of my post - I think everyone would still be having a cry.

@ Gorilla - Wake up. People modify cars that aren't Skylines, Supras, Evos and Silvias.

Do I really have to simplify it to this point: All I wanted, was to see some cars that weren't the same old played out Fast n Furious mobiles that are always posted on here. It'd be good to see what my other brothers from across the ditch are doing with their cars and what OTHER cars they are driving. What is so hard to understand about that? I'm not even going to try and justify myself further, because you guys already have your minds made up that you only want to see the same cars over and over again on these pages.

You guys are just dumb. That's about as simple as it's going to get without writing another wall of text.

Although - what more should I expect from a bunch of Australians?

I'll go have some Fush n Chups now.

PEACE.

He's got a point though, some more diversity would be nice... but having said that, no one really wants to look at their nan's beige civic with hubcaps and an exhaust tip :/ I guess the onus is people to actually be different and creative with they're cars, which is hard because I don't think there's 2 many millionaires who rock up to meets :p

*P.S. Fush und CHups is definately a NZ thing.. not an Aussie thing.

What you haven't taken into account is that our import approved list is much much shorter than NZ. We don't really have many options if we want real performance thats with in a realistic budget. :(

childish or not, if you really that keen on seeing what your brethren are driving, how about checking out the Member's Ride - it is there for that reason.

I think your attitude toward the true meaning of what a "MEET" really is the main issue here. I do understand, it is a very hard reality to alot of young people these days to have the expectation when they participate in this so called meet that their car will be photographed, hence forgetting the real reason why we hold such meet. or maybe I'm just getting to old.

If you really want diversity...I'll make it a mission next meet to take pics of different knobs, bumpers, and mufflers to give you some essence of what people here in Aus have diversified into. Or maybe I won't....it is a MEET after all.

BTW, you can call it childish...but I call it PRIDE of being a contributor in JDMST.

I do get what Bwarp means when you see almost all the same cars at every meet in pictures, but Bwarp... the cars of interest are usually the ones that are most modified, unique or have new shiz installed on them from the last meet... these meets are all about the people and seeing the cars progressing... its not Autosalon lol

I don't know about you... but unless I see a cool or interesting car I like... I will take a photo of it. I'm not going to take a photo of a standard civic on axis rims, because it's gay. (umad?)

Another point is that, on the day there are ALOT of people who take photos... but only 1 out of 5 photographers will upload it to JDMST.

but for you BWARP, I will take a photo of each car @ the May JDMST EOMM/evonats thing. But if there happens to be alot of photos of Evos, then bad luck... I can't make you happy.

Hey don't paint us Aussies all with the same brush mate, it is Sydney that is packed out with the aforementioned 'elitists & retards' no arguing there! You do have some really valid points too mate.... there's just a way of delivering it. But then again the majority probably dont want to hear it.

QLD EOMM seem to get a wider range of cars it would seem?

I personally don't care about my car getting pics, but there is a point that every meet contains the same cars ruling the pic threads.. Maybe they stand out , are popular members, have big $$$, are the dude with the camera's mates.. Who knows.. when I can't make a meet,I tend to look at pics, see all the 'usual' pics and notice something that grabs my attention in the background and spend ages Lookin through all the pics tryin to find it but no avail :(

Perfect example was the bodyform (don't quote) where I noticed an airbrushed evo next to steves mx5.. I looked through the 1000+ pics and even asked a few times if anyone had any.. So the most I've seen in half the rear door back of the car.. Sure it might not be everyone's taste, but that amount of detail does take skill!

Ah well .. Such is life..

You guys are just dumb. Although - what more should I expect from a bunch of Australians?

Luke - you have some very valid points but you've really failed at getting these valid points across in a constructive manner.

What's worse is that you're beginning to offend and attack members of the JDMST community with nasty comments like the ones above.

At very early meets in 2005 we tried to capture every single car at the meets. Meets got a lot bigger though along the way and it's been some time since a photographer has gone out of his way to take a shot of every single car at a meet.

looks like there's only about 10 of the same cars showing up to your meets.

I'm sure if you take the time to open your eyes, go back to the beginning of this thread and look through the pictures again you will see a lot more than 10 of the same cars. Have a look through our featured rides and featured build threads too, you'll see cars that are featured despite the owners not being "made of cash".

PS: Your abusive posts are against the JDMST RULES. If you continue to offend JDMST members in public I'll terminate your account (your first and final warning).

Not to stir the pot, but everyone here has assumed Bwarp is against seeing photos of Skylines, Evos and the usually modified cars.

From what I have read, it seems the point (as I see it) isnt against these models of cars, but the same examples of them being photo-graphed all the time.

Yes, they do change from EOMM to EOMM, but isn't that also the point of a build thread, to post up updates (and photos of those updates as well)?

Either way, it doesnt phase me too much either way, my Sil80 made it into the thread

I get what bwarp is trying to say, its more the fact that members sack ride the same cars over and over again. They are fantastic cars,no doubt.
But seeing the same cars over and over in 1 thread by different photographers gets tiresome.

I'm sure as shit fine with people posting the same cars over and over again, I just skip their photos till I see something new/different/interesting, but the most annoying thing about this thread so far is the gang mentality shown towards bwarp, how many people have to chime in to tell him he's an idiot? if your argument is constructive then fair enough but replies like "you're a tard GTFO" is pathetic IMO

But we are not a massive car community, like say the hundreds that seem, to turn up for Cars n Coffee in LA. If we were, there would be lots of interesting new cars to "feature" every week, but the fact of the matter is, an EOMM is a fairly small car show in the great scheme of things. When only 100-odd cars turn up, you can't expect massive variety.

compare cars with females

highly modified, much $$ spent on, looks nice, sits nice, 90% of the community dreams of owning it

average car with some wheels, a catback exhaust, fading paint, a few dings
=
your auntie, my auntie, my granny, the next door neighbor mum... or in a nicer way, your average plain woman

photographers will always take photos of the jessica alba in a crowd of average women, ppl in forums will want to see pics of jessica alba and not of my mum. id prefer to look at 100 different photos of jessica alba than 100 different photos of mums. there is a demand to see jessica alba/the "nicer, more modified cars".

Go to a model specific car meet such as SkylinesAU, clubITR etc. Should people only take pics of the best modified car and ignore the person who rocks up in a 100% stock car?
Naturally people at model specific meets will have a passion for all the cars. What about JDMST?

But anyways like I said i'm happy to look out for all the average cars while all the pro photographers snap pics of cars with $30k+ worth of mods

let me go outside to my front yard, take a photo and complain to National geographic why they arent appreciating the beauty of my front yard and not publishing my foto

and then say they dont appreciate all kinds of scenery cos only pictures of the grand canyon and niagra falls made it into the 2012 calendar and not my front yard

.

That's fine but if members wanted to talk to each other about their 'average, not as good as jessica alba car' then how do they find each other?

After the meet I would probably have forgetten about most cars that I appreciated...That's why we need photos as a starting point.
I doubt every person has time to walk around and greet 100-150 people in one night.

If there are pics of most cars posted after every meet then it's just a matter of posting 'who owns this car, I like it, i'm interested in knowing a few things' and then more friends can be made through private messaging...

It's sorta like the spotted thread...people say "spotted <car/username/numberplate> I like your wheels/exhaust/stance"...but a day or two later you can't remember the details anymore...

That's when photos help....

Not sure my post really means anything but i'm just expanding what I think Bwarp is trying to say...

I meant the opposite.

If I was going to say what I really thought of you I'd call you a fucking wanker but I wont.

It's a nice little passive-aggressive way of being insulting.

I was gonna call your mum a fat mole but I won't. I'm far too civilised for that

I'm guessing you didn't pick up on the passive-aggressiveness/sarcasm in my retaliation post then.

Yay for internet forum keyboard warriors!!

OH WHAT A KUFFUFFLE.

FFS, this still going? :???:

To Every photographer going to the next Eomm, go take a pic of a Civic, Pulsar, Lancer that doesn't have a build thread and post them up.
So the owners can feel appreciate too ( Which is a good thing ) and be seen by people of Jdmst and Nz peep's

But a few pics of Jessica Alba won't hurt either

Problem solved, no one needs to get cry.

Was using a Nikon D300s with a Nikkor 12-24mm wide angle and also a sigma fish eye. :)

The moment he started insulting us for being Australian was the moment he started being a 'tard in my eyes, hence the comment. I see his point, but that was uncalled for.

being at a meet isnt about seeing cars over and over again, u go to a meet because u share the same interests and thats cars and meeting new people hence being a meet, everything else is just like a bonus, so we should just appreciate it for what it is

Jerk.

hahha real mature for being a Mod

I love when Mods on forums, don't just do the clever (easy) thing and just moderate posts like they're supposed to, but they jump into a discussion and get all angry about it.

I wasn't excluding myself from the Keyboard Warrior comment.

And I tend not to liken anything to Nazism as it tends to downplay what actually happened with the Holocaust and the other shit the Nazi regime did. eg, you can't compare the mass tragedy that was the holocaust, with a forum battle/mod..... doesn't really seem fair - it makes the Holocaust seem less important.

But aside from that, apologies that you took my small comment to heart, I'll start worshipping you oh dear Admin Mike father in the sky. Hallowed be thy name. Have mercy on my soul and please forgiveth me and do not ban me to the firey gates of other forums.

Forever and ever

Car-men.

I'm not going to continue

You wrote that a few pages back, but you have continued? I gave you a warning on page 11 and you've ignored it.

Everyone gets your point. Everyone agrees that it would be a great thing to have photographers, or at least one photographer cover every single car that makes it to OUR meets but I don't think anyone has been a fan of how you've gotten your message across.

Take a holiday.

LOL i dont understand why it's so hard for people to understand what BWARP is trying to get at!

all he said was theres not enough pics of other cars and its always the same car photos being shown at jdmst meets. seems like everyones pissed cos he started his comment with 'yawn'

..whats so bad about that?!?! is it that bad cos its true?

not everyone on this forum goes to meets and when they see pics of eomms they want to see pics of the best examples which is fair enough

however what BWARP said in his first comment is right on the button, as i previously said, not eveyrone goes to the meets. every eomm has the same cars every time! every picture thread involves same cars, new shots and maybe the odd different cars here & there. (dont get me wrong, THERE IS ABOSULTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT, i like to see the best examples out there)

WIL70S
16-05-11, 12:34 PM
not at one point, did BWARP say anythign racial.. yet all he gets sht for is "theres nothig wrong with his first comment, until he insulted us for being australians"

fkk have a cry, if i remember correctly it was some other idiot who started with the racial comments such as "fush & chups"
