I'm new to this forum and I'd thought I should start a build thread, as someone
else from this forum inspired me to. PMK ;) Ahaha. WARNING, I got a little too
exicted and this thread is pretty long! Just letting you guys
know before hand. So read at your own risk.

I'm a full time student, and I'd say I'm a pretty lucky bastard.
My first car was given to me by my uncle.
It was a 94 Honda Integra Vti-R.

When I first received her. :(

I didn't get much done to it, as I deem that car as 'unlucky'.
During the time I owned her, she has been in a few accidents by other drivers.
However I did get a Injen CAI from JDMYARD, 6000K HID's, Facelift tail lights
and I also picked up AUDM ITR front bar with headlights and indicators but never
got around into putting it on. I then sold her afterwards.

And then this happened...

A lady swerved onto my lane, and took out my left side of the car.

I was contemplating in whether to get another DC2, but Type R this time, the Mazda
3 SP23, Subaru Liberty Spec B 3.oR and the Toyota Corolla Sportivo. I was very close
to picking up the Liberty Spec B, putting a deposit and all, but the sale fell through.
I needed a car to drive to and from uni everyday, so the DC2R was very pratical as I
had to also drive 3 other of my friends. I also needed something fuel efficient, and
what could be better than a 1.8L 4 cylinder engine? So it was decided, the Corolla
Sportivo.

I was looking for a black Sportivo, but I couldn't find one that was mildly modded.
Most of them were stock. I wasn't really fond with the colour silver, but it was
pretty much all done for me. I picked up a Silver 2005 Toyota Corolla Sportivo from
a owner from Strathfield. But a little too 'sexspec' for me.
It was a 'Concord Custom' Rep,the valve cover was sprayed 'TRD' colour and it had
Eyelids on that didn't match the paint of the rest of the car. Everything he did was
professionally done with receipts and all. It costed him a whooping $350 just to spray
the calipers red! If it was me, all it would have cost was a can of spray paint, and
a hell lot of sandpaper.

How she looked when I picked her up.

The first thing I did was remove the "Concord Customs" decal that was located
on the rear windshield. I used WD-40 and my school ID to scrape it off without
damaging the tints of the car. After that I removed the eyelids with my
sisters hair dryer cause I'm JDM AS FCK!

After:
http://i1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee420/Peter_Mai/My%20MY05%20Toyota%20Corolla%20Spotivo%20Thread/8.jpg

A week later I went to Autobarn and bought a number of sand paper to sand down
the valve cover. I went for a Satin Black heatproof paint and Red heatproof paint
for the logo. With help from my cousin, and sister boyfriend, we sanded down the
valve cover stripping off the paint. We started with a really rough sandpaper,
followed by a fine one. We gave it a good wash and wipe down. We sprayed the cover
with 5 light mist, giving it a 10min intervals in between to dry. The last coat we
did was a thicker one, and we left that to dry overnight. The next day we sanded the
'Toyota' and the 'VVTL-I'emblem, same as we did before. With a rough sand paper
then using a fine one to smooth it out. We masked off around the 'Toyota' emblem
and the 'VVTL-I' emblem and sprayed it red. 5 fine coats and a last thick coat and
left it to dry overnight.

After my sister and her boyfriend came home from Japan, they brought home a Razo RA25 340g gearknob (I immediately noticed a dramatic smoother shift between gears), a Broadway mirror, some JDM Air freshner, and some JDM stickers to make my car go faster. A week later, I got some 6000K HID's and some LED T10 bulbs. They are hella bright!

My latest mod is a X-Force Twinloop exhaust, which I bought from a mate of mine. Now I just need to weld it on, and also Thule Roof racks and a Prorack Bike rack I borrowed from a good mate. And also I gotta support JDMST :)

Roof racks. Yay or nay?

End of semester i'll be attempting to DIY black housing headlights, spraying side indicators amber, fog lights yellow and respraying the stock rims. I'm contemplating in whether I should be different and spray the rims purple, blue, orange or green. Here are some pictures I got off the net on silver cars. And haters gone hate, everyone has their different opinions.

That's it for now, but in the future maybe some nice shoes with some deep dish
(Any suggestions? Haven't seem any Sportivos around with some nice rims, beside
the typical Volk Rays TE37's or the Volk Rays CE28's which are heaps nice but
I want to be a little different) and try get some camber going on coilovers. Along
with a TRD CAI, along with the TRD Front strut and the rear sway bar and some OEM
window visors.

Nice work maiwang :) my first car was a black 05 sportivo and i loved it, such a fun car. It had a few mods being trd cai, ces exhaust and cusco zero 2 coilovers which were awesome really made a huge difference to the handling. I'll see if i can find a few pics of it for you ;)

ps any q's about the spotivo just pm me, I'd be happy to help out or share some knowledge where I can.

lawl nice build. Just an advice from me : if you want colour then you got attention. Both good and bad but you were always the type to get something bright. Hoping to see more updates with it :)

I got some 6000K HID's and some LED T10 bulbs. They are hella glary!

Fixed.

You do know how annoying they are to oncoming drivers don't you? Apart from that the car looks tidy.

It’s actually a 2 door. Only in the UK I think. They look real nice. If I can get my hands on the rear pods and rear spoiler that would be sick!
