What are your thoughts on the car?

Main reason i am asking is because when i purchase my first car it is either between the Subaru Liberty or a Honda Integra VTi-R. I have thought about the Subaru mainly because it is a more practical car with 4 doors and has more space compared to the Honda. Also since im going to be on my P's i wanted to know which one would feel better in terms of Power and Handling. I have heard that the subaru handles wonderfully and apparently feels better in terms of power due to having more torque. But im not really sure, Your thought's and help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

Hey Bill. Welcome to the club.

How much have you got to spend? There are a lot better cars available for P platers.

Liberty Rx is boring, the vti-r would be quicker and more fun to drive. If you already have a 09 Micra, no point buying another boring car...

The RX is going to be fairly slow. I don't know who told you its torquey, its really not going to be. The motor is asthmatic. I would only get a manual one.

Don't get a vti-r integra. Waste of time.

I have probably no more than 5000 - 8500 to spend and I am getting a manual transmission. Only reason I want a 4 door is for convinence and practicality. Hate having to get in and out for passengers in the back. Plus the Subaru has a
Bigger boot. But any other suggestions would be appreciated

i recently brought a 97 RX liberty as a daily till i get off my p's, paid 5k for a manual one with 190k on the clock, all repairs and major service done. i think for there money, there a good car. it handles well, the only thing i did as soon as i got it was take out the crap genuine plastic drop links and nolathaned it up. I find there powerful enough, i drive a fair share of different cars and for a 2.5 of that age, its excellent. and if you travel alot, the amazingly comfy. if i ever do freeway runs i chose the liberty over our rex cause its just so much smoother. i haven't driven the Gen 3 but im guessing there pretty much the same. besides on your p's, the faster the car, and the more street race looking the car is the more likely you'll get booked.
hope this helps :)

libertys are great cars but don't expect anything exciting. Just a reliable & comfortable car with solid handling. Otherwise not much fun factor.

Personally I'd be looking at something like a Prelude. A bit nicer than a teg and the VTIR's go pretty decent.
Yeh rear seat access is a pain but who needs practicality on your Ps lol :P
