Massive car audio/visual sale at JB Hifi Hornsby

Heya everybody,

Just thought I'd let people know about the massive sale at JB Hifi at the moment in the Car Audio department. The department will be closing down and the final day to grab a bargain will be 04/07/07. It's not everyday that a car audio store or department gets shut down, so now it's the perfect opportunity for someone to save a heap of $$$ on their in car entertainment.

We are clearing all the demo stock at under cost price! A further 10-15%can be taken of the already ridiculously marked down prices. As an example I sold a Pioneer AVH-P6850DVD (double din dvd HU with built in 6 disc stacker) for $1050!!! Full retail price is $2300, $1050 is actually $400 UNDER cost price.

There is also an Alpine IVA-W200E on the display bored (rrp $1899), my manager is willing to let it go for $1100. In terms of Audio/Visual units there are also Alpine IVA-D100E, Alpine IVA-D310E, Kenwood KVT-739DVD and a Pioneer AVH-P5750DVD on the demo board which are being cleared at under cost. There are also some brand new models left but they won't be going for anything as cheap as the demo models.

There are a few sets of splits left as well if people are interested in speakers. Pioneer, Audiobahn, Cadence, Kicker, Sony and JL Audio. There is a set of JL Audio ZR series splits, rrp is around 1200-1300 and they've been reduced to $709.

There are a few Sony and Panasonic headunits left in the demo board but the biggest bargain would probably have to the Kenwood XXV-01D. The unit was Kenwoods 25th Birthday present to themselves and retailed for $1299 on it's release, this was then dropped down to $899 to clear the model but now we've reduced this further down to $650! I'm pretty sure the manager will be willing to sell it off for under $600 as well.

There are still a few amps and headunits left on the demo board although the range is quite limited as the majority has been sold. Audiobahn, Cadence, Kicker and JL Audio amps are still available. In terms of headunits

This only applies to the JB HiFi Hornsby store. My roster is as follows:

Wednesday: 1pm-6pm
Thursday: 3pm-9pm
Friday: 1pm-6pm
Saturday: 9am-6pm
Sunday: 10am-5:30pm

If anyone is after a bargain now is the time to do it! There's also a clearence of Home Theatre speakers as well, some are reduced to half price.

Only day off from JB was today but then I've got 2 jobs, 40hrs at JB and 25hrs at my other work place. 65hr week OH YEAH!!!
So just look for the only asian guy working there who has the massive eye bags... haha

None left sorry, was sold for about $700-750.
In terms of double dins that are left in stock there's the Alpine IVA-W200E, $1100 for the demo model (only been put up in the board for about 3weeks). There's also the newly released IVA-W202E, essentially the same but also has DivX support. It's still brand new in the box and untouched so that'd probably be sold for $1450.

I wanted to get into something related to car audio and retail, saw the listing for a car audio position at JB and I got the job. Only just started working here about 5weeks ago and now the department is going.... :evil:

It's gonne be replaced by IT gear, so there goes my car audio experience... lol but at least i'll still have some retail experience.

The XXV-01D is the ONLY kenwood headunit that i'd personally get, I wouldn't touch the other ones unless it was one of the DVD ones... lol
I could probably work something out and let it go for $550.

JL Audio ZR650: rrp is roughly $1200 and they've been reduced down to $709, could probably sell them for $620.

Pioneer TS-C160R: RRP $530, manager said sell the demo model for $220. The centre dust cap is a little damaged but they still sound great!.

Pioneer TS-C1625: RRP $389, Demo probably $150, brand new one in box $199 (although the box is kinda damaged)

Got a whole stack of Alpine Type-E splits left, although I personally havn't heard them so I wouldn't have a clue of how they sound. I've been told they sound pretty good for the price and are very good value for money but then again that was the Alpine rep that told me.... lol

Kicker 05KS6.2: rrp $300, demo unit $150.

There are also a couple sets of JL Audio TR650 left, brand new in box. Not sure the price on these though. There's also some Cadence and Audiobahn splits left.

In terms of coaxials and 6x9's there's nothing out of the ordinary or outstanding left.

If your after stuff like Rockford Fosgate, MB Quarts, boston or clarion then no but other stuff like Sony, kenwood, JL audio or Candice then yes...kind of your mid range stuff

Personally I'd rate JL Audio above RF Fosgate in terms of speakers, Subs and amps are bloody awesome as well. The W6v3 sub only needs about 300-350wrms and it goes nuts!

Don't get me wrong I'm not bagging out RF gear, I was oh so close to getting a P3 sub but ended up getting a IDMax instead. The "punch" series amps are freakin berzerk. I'm just not a fan of their speakers, I just find the tweeters too bright and harsh. Same story with Boston splits, espicially the Pro series.

The JL Audio ZR series is very very very close to the Boston Z6's in terms of SQ. The tweeter on the ZR's aren't quite as smooth but they're oh so close but then again everyone does have different preferences. The amount of mid bass from the ZR's is amazing, they're still in very good condition because not many people want to spend $1200 on a set of speakers and they're always run off an amp if someone did want to have a listen. No way on earth we'd ever run the ZR's off the headunit.

Best set would be the JL ZR650, I could probably sell the demo model for $620 which is about half the price of the retail!

I'd be getting the ZR's myself but I've already got a set of Morel Elate 6's sitting in my room waiting to get installed... lol I'm currently running some MB Quart References they're nice but get a bit on the bright side when the volume is turned up.

Yeah i've got a set of MB Quartz, previous range of references. They sound great but I havn't had a chance to sound deaden the doors yet so they're not as good as they can be atm.

We do installs as well only problem is our regular guy (fri and sat) is completely booked out this week and this is is his last week since the car audio department is going. We've also got a mobile installer that can go to where the car is but he's pretty much flat out this week and next.... lol

So if you were to book an install through us it'd take a while before it gets done. You could always try other JB stores to see their installer's availability. Or better yet take it to a specialist store like FHRX Studios or Precision Engineering.

FHRX Studios is in Carringbah and Precision Engineering is in Carlton. Their prices may not be that cheap but their work is top notch. If I was to get an install done i'd probably be leaving my my car one of those 2 places.

If it's just the player then they're about 300-500 for a brand new one
JVC AVX11 - 2.7" screen that should be about just under 600 for a brand new one. They retail for $730 and we've got them on special atm for $647, being a newly released model and already reduced I can't take much more off it.

Pioneer AVH-5750DVD: Demo one could probably be sold for about $700. RRP is well over $1400 but they're a run out model so we're selling brand new ones for $887. (6.5" touchscreen)

Kenwood KVT-739DVD: RRP 1999, demo reduced to $1100 but I'm pretty sure my manager would be ok with letting it go for 950-1000. (7" Touchscreen). Brand new one would probably be about $1200

Alpine IVA-D100E: RRP 1899, demo reduced to 1250. Manager said the lowest he'd go on the Alpine would be $1100.

AlpineIVA-D105E: RRP about 1899, brand new 07 model. Essential the same as the D100E with a few cosmetic changes and DivX support. Should be able to do a brand new one for about $1450

Alpine IVA-D310E: Alpine's Flagship dvd monitor. RRP $2599, reduced to$1600. Probably sell for $1400. (demo model)

That's pretty much all that's left in terms of single din units.

No demo ones left of the pioneer double din sorry... I think there are still a couple brand new ones left although i'm not 100% sure on price for them. I sold the demo one only just on monday for $1050! That was an awesome buy.

Alpine IVA-W200E: reduced to $1234 but manager said the lowest he'd go on it is $1100 for the demo model. That's just over half price!

Alpine IVA-W202E: Similar to the above but with DivX support. Brand new in the box about $1450.

When comparing the Alpine IVA-W200E and the Pioneer AVH-P6850DVD, i'd personally be going for the Pioneer since it's got better audio tuning options as well as a built in 6disc stacker. Both have awesome screen quality, antiglare coating on both work great as well. The Pioneer has much more vivid colours as well but then again different people have different preferences. I havn't used the new Alpine IVA-W202E so I can't say how well it'd stack up against the Pioneer.

We also had a JVC double din, the demo one is sold and i'm not sure if there are any left in stock in the store, i'll have to double check that. Screen quality isn't quite the same level as the Alpine, Pioneer or Kenwood units but then again the retail of it is also lower than the others. The main gripe I had with the JVC was the shockingly small viewing angle.

Kenwood DDX-6039, no demo units or new ones left at all... lol
Not a bad unit, screen was quite good but the only thing I didnt like was the user interface. It's not as intuitive as the Pioneer or Alpine one.

Just the sub itself or sub and box?
If you're after sub and box the only thing that comes to mind is a Kenwood 3514BOX, there might be some audiobahn DVC sub/box packs left.

Just the sub by itself there's still stock of Kenwood 3514 (12" Dual 4ohm, 380wrms) or JL Audio 12W3V2 Dual 2 ohm, All other subs are SVC. In terms of splits the only decent ones left are JL Audio TR series, if you dont mind some demo stock then there's also a set of Pioneer TS-C160R (yellow cones) left as well as the AWESOME JL Audio ZR splits (rrp $1200 could probably sell for $650). There's also some Cadence, Audiobahn, kicker and sony splits left.

Don't have any switches but if you're after cabling we've got stuff that'll get the job done (Audioline) as well as quality stuff (Kicker and Stinger).
