Its been a long time coming but today we started on my mates Supra Project. Over the last year we have been collecting all the go fast bits to turn this stock 98 TT supra into a 700hp street beast. The car was imported a few years ago stock as a rock with low kms and is in mint condition. The car will be a daily/weekend driver so it will not be as extreme as some our other projects but it will still pack a punch approx 450-500rwkw.

JDM Styling is what this car is about and has the best JDM parts money can buy.

Here's a lil list of what's being done to it.
-Tein Super Street Coilovers
-Gram Lights 57S Pro Chrome Titanium Lip, 19x9F and 19x10R
-Amuse Front Lip
-Full HKS T04Z Turbo Kit
-Full HKS Type R Intercooler Kit
-Koyo Radiator
-HKS Cat Back Exhaust
-HKS Timing Belt
-HKS SSQ III Bov
-NPC Twin Plate Clutch
-Vipec V88 ECU
-Titan Motorsport Fuel Rail
-2000cc Injectors
-MVP Triple Pump Intank Hanger
-3 Denso Fuel Pumps
-Sard Fuel Regulator
-TRD 300kph Speedo.
+ More To Come

Alot of money into parts but no list of the head being done or the block? Will you be doing them or leave them stock? Also running e85 as i see your running 2000cc injectors.

Also piss the hks off and run a gt55 :)

Nah no internal work yet maybe some Cams but otherwise a stock bottom end will do just fine for them power levels, it will be getting a E85 tune for when it hits the strip and to see what a stock bottom end can handle, as for the turbo the owner wants to be super responsive as it will be a daily driver and the HKS turbos seem to perform really well for street cars. This will be the 3rd different HKS setup i have done, had Twin 2530's on the 33 GTR, got a HKS T62R on the 32 GTR and now a T04Z on the Supra should become a HKS Dealer :)

Yeah i reckon i've been waiting patiently for 3yrs to make some serious Hp out of this car, looking forward to working on the 2J as i'm a been working on RB's for the last 4yrs. Don't know if cams will be going in just yet i have to do a bit more research and see if my mate Richo wants to fork out for them. I am putting in a Vipec V88 ECU in so i can keep the VVT-i will be interesting to see how it affects the torque and power curves.

Hi this is nice!!! Just out of curiosity, seeing you put a T62R on an rb26, how come you only chose T04Z for your 2J? Wouldnt it make more sense if it was other way around? Thank you.

Size isn't really the issue here. It depends on what boost they are looking at and how streetable the car is meant to remain.

The T04Z on the 2JZ is a daily driver the T62R on RB26 is on a drag GTR that is no way shape or form a daily driver pure drag car that's all cheers :)

Completely see where your mates coming from..his got expensive taste! Lol
As for cams titan do 264 and 272 not really that expensive but then does get pricey when you go 272 as hell have to do the whole head no point running stock stuff.

From what ive seen 700hp might be pushing the stock bottom so hopefully no dramas occur. Im currently doing a 500-600hp supra build so will be interesting to see how this handles the power. As for fuel your mate should run pump/e85 for daily duties and c16 for the track :)

All the best cant wait to see this alive

Yeah i guess if we do cams they will be drop-in sticks not gonna go into changing out springs and shit that will be to costly, as for fuel living up in Nth QLD sucks for some things like fuel and postage, My brother is the dealer for Sucrogen E85 so we get it fairly cheap, C16 although is good i cannot justify the price for it, the Sucrogen works perfectly, we run it in our drag GTR and it runs sweet as a nut. As much as people love to see big power levels, its all well and fine but if you can't use it properly why have it at all 500-600hp is pretty much the limit for a usable daily driver any more it starts to become a pain in the arse.

Thats true about cams..hence my option of running stock internals for now then later later do the head. Yes c16 is a bit over the top and i guess as a daily its not worth the cost when you can easily run pump and have e85 for special occasions.

Yeah man big numbers also become very costly especially for a 2j. Also running big power can also mean changing other stuff on the car and again it all adds up. Main reason why im only aiming for the figures i mentioned and for a good reliable daily driver.

Can i ask how much the clutch was? Also reasoning begind vipec? Why not haltech or motec lol? Was it due to funds?

The clutch is NPC twin plate with sprung centre cost $2800 with push pull converter, its the exact same clutch that's in our drag car except its solid centre. Very tough clutch and cheap and easy to rebuild and very easy to use. With the computer we chose the Vipec because they are awesome very user friendly, again run the same in our R32, I highly recommend them. They are still quite expensive a tad over $3000 with the plug in loom adaptor, but unlike Motec optional functions and sensors don't cost an arm and a leg. Haltech not a fan of heard a few bad things, and Motec is way to Pricey.

Update:

Have done a lil bit to the supra this week only get a couple of days off a week so gotta make the most of it. All the stock shit is gone in the the bin to make way for the new shit. Gotta love working with HKS gear so simple and easy to work with very little customizing to do all though i will be adding to the kit cause i am not a big fan of rubber push on hose tails for water and oil so those will be getting braided. Got a bit of delay with the timing belt change out as i need to get my 3/4 IR Gun from work to crack the harmonic balancer bolt will do that next week. The turbine housing and exhaust manifold have been sent down to brissy to get ceramic coated, just have to order a few more parts and its nearly good to go. Here's some pics:

Update:

Well i finally got the Harmonic Balancer off, got my Ingersoll Rand 3/4 Rattle gun up its arse, only just got it. This morning i changed out the timing belt with a New HKS One and removed the water pump so i could cut off the push on hose tails and tap them out with 1/4NPT to -6 JIC for the Turbo water inlet and outlet. Can't really do much until i get the exhaust manifold and turbine housing back from Brissy. Hopefully my Nismo and Bride goodies arrive in the mail for my 350Z tomorrow :)

Surprised you are not affiliated with GT Auto Garage down in Bris, since they are the official dealers for HKS hahaha :P

On another note, you, your brother and your mates have impeccable taste in wheels. 57 Ti's are bullshit sexy. Subscribing to this build as well.
