Base car - JDM levin coupe (apex? was panda and has a sun roof) painted 041 white (in acrylic) with front fender lips welded onto rear (more to repair rust than anything)

engine - JDM small port full RWD set up w/toda 288/272, old school hks cam gears metal head gasket, maybe some other mystery internal mods. ports look stock. billet flywheel and 3 puck. bought as a package from Craig at Just JDM Imports.

management - stock :S jdm 86. zenki looms.

exhaust - full bolt on RSR with cat, single rear muffler with silencer installed (60mm) 4-1 mild steel jap header.

footwork - Custom Compact built coil overs :) otomoto kit with 6k springs and excel g celica dampener. PS knuckles, 40mm rca, what i suspect is SP-tec camber tops, cusco tower brace. a few newish 2nd hand poly bushes. rear has custom (thanks Dave!) 215mm 4.5k AJPS springs and some wrecker $20 commo shox. front ARB is 27mm (pedders) rear i think is 16mm (trd?) the diff has lengthened lower brackets (traction brackets)

diff - a re jigged ra40 t series with the above mentioned mods and a 4.3 ratio and trd 2 way. set up by duncan at TOP COG (pm me if you want your diff gears/lsd set up right)

interior - full zenki brown, because brown beats blue every time ;) nardi classic with deep boss kit and some small spacers.

aero - stock kouki with zenki lip

wheels - right now 14x8 watas on the front, widened 14x8 volk mesh on the rear. hero hz-1 tires 185 55 14.

brakes - JDM discs with ADM calipers using QFM A1RM pads (-6mm friction material) rear stock drums.

Beally for the Brake MC and MJPS arms.
Seamus for getting the watas
Robbo for being at me for ABOUT 4 YEARS to build another car and actually drive it.
Mclovin for some motivation (even though he has none) and a hand here and there.
my neighbours for not calling the cops painting in the open air/screaming obscenities at the slightest misfortune.

so far its been great to just have an 86 to drive again. im using it as a daily right now. it was built from an average condition empty shell to what it is now this year over about 4 months? maybe more maybe less.

soon ill be swapping out the diff for a proper t18 axle which will give me a bit more room for my 14x8.5 meshies on the rear, and swap the 8s to the front which are a little deeper offset than the watas (which are actually deeper than the mesh pictured on the front of the car). ill also be fitting up some commo excel gs soon.

the gearbox is a 330 000k + ae71 one and it is horrible, i will be dropping off a couple of trannys to TOP COG early this week to get rebuilt into one decent one.

the new wheels with some slippery tires and deleting the traction brackets + stiffer shox will hopefully get this thing sliding. otherwise ill be going up to 7/5.5k spring combo + a 4.8 ring and pinion which should also suit the engine better.

P.S the bonnet (as well as roof and boot) are yet to be painted. bonnet will be white.

What fuel setup do you have atm?

18-10-11, 07:20 PM
ADM tank, some brass compression fittings and a bosch L-jet type external pump drawing straight from the tank. basically the same set up ive used on about 4 or 5 corollas now. the ADM tank still does have baffles, just not a swirl pot. ive found this set up to work perfectly fine. its cheap and easy. you would need to have a fair bit less the 10L for it to surge. you can hear the pump some times. but its not really an issue for me.
