Hey all. made an account a while back and posted my car. but for some reason i cant logg on that account anymore so i made a new one.
Just wanted to hear you opinons/and any ideas you guys might have for me.

ive had the car for about 6 months now. brought it for $4200 as my first car and got jipped hard.the head gasket was blown when i brought it and didnt know because it had no thermostat. the temperature was fine . until i attempted to go up blue mountains one night.

Long story short. head gasket was blow (very common on this motor '7mge')
Im a third year mechanic so just fixxed it in my garage. then got it back running alot better
Until it died on me one day. sat in the garage for a month trying to figure out wat was wrong. paid an auto electrician 300 bucks and found out it was my air flow meter had a short in it and some how cut out the fuel and spark :s.

replace the afm and she was fine
But now it sitting in thw garage with no rego. should be on the road in 3 weeks.

anyways. enough talk. here are some pictures :)

Sorry if pics are huge.
looks like there resized on my phone but i dunno if its just my phone doing it.

Specs are: 1986 ma70 mk3 toyota supra first bunch of mk3 so its got 7m. no 1j for me :(

Only thing ive done to it is lowerd springs. obviously not low enough.
saving for some coilovers atm. Taken the big ugly hot dog cannon off to put some straight pipes on.
350mm deep dish omp steering wheel. and also saving for some rota d2 wheels. as i dont have 4 grand to spend on work miester s1's :p

How long until your off your p's.

Thought about doing the 1j swap, I've helped a mate swap a 1j into his mkIII, it's a pretty simple swap and the 1j is a lot better engine.

Otherwise, build up the 7m. check out supramania for any info you need on these, if you haven't already,

Been on my p plates for about 7 months. im 20 in july
if i wasnt such a lazy ass and got my licence wen i was meant to i could of had a turbo in 6 months :( so spewing.

and yeah i have no intrest in 7m's but i love 2j and 1jz.
I wana swap either into it but dunno wat to do.
Do u think it would be worth swapping to a non turbo 2 or 1j. if so which do you think? if i was going turbo id go 1j but im more leaning towards 2 if its non turbo . been told there a better off if its na.
But i dunno. wat u reckon? or should i just leave it till i get my fulls and then decide on which turbo motor i want.
keep in mind. my 7m is a nugget. no power at all. and i dont trust reving it high at all haha. also has 280 thousand on clock :s

i bought a 2jza80 as my first car for L's - Green P's... sold it 2 months ago i think.. i wish i had bought mk3 though instead cause they look pretty mad when done up right.

with engine swap... i'd prolly go 2J it's never let me down for the 2 years i had it... only thing that went was a power steering pump n thats it.

you plan on doing anything with the exterior dude?

Yeah im leaning towards 2j. more reliable and shit. tough motor :)

And for exterior im thinking just rota d2 hoops. i want it to sit low as f*ck and flare the guards out a bit.
then get the jap front bar. ill post picture of wat i want to do after work this arvo to give u an idea.

Swapping a 2j into these is a long and expensive process, stick with the crappy 7m until your off your p's and then think about doing an engine swap.

Personally, i would be getting a 1j, it's such an easy swap.

Yeah i havnt looked much intoit . but i knew a 1j would be alot easier to swap.

with a 1j swap. wat are the main things.u.gotta do? if anyone.knows

Get urself a jza70 halfcut, swap the subframe, engine, all wiring, gearbox etc... from the ma70 and replace with the jza70, will need to get a tailshaft made up to go into the ma70 diff.

Nice car mate. Dont dismiss the 7M's man, they can be a tough motor when built right too, have a look at my for sale thread...

mate if you want to do a conversion wait till your off your p's and dont bother going 2j unless you have funds to follow...1j's are very reliable and great motors plus itll be a drop in for your car and alot less expensive as there are half cuts for jza70's going for cheap!
