View Full Version : WRX - long gone.. DC2 ITR

This is my 2003 WRX..

bought the car in 08 with 36k kms with coilovers, exhaust, filter and big sound system
@ 50k kms the motor decided to let go (due to having certain mods and not being tuned)
so I decided to get the stock WRX motor rebuild with some goodies to go with it
after running in the fresh rebuilt motor we fitted a VF30 turbo, 550cc injectors, ARC Airbox she was off for a tune
not too long after the car was making the same ticking noise as before! Another spun bearing!!
I called up the workshop that did it, and the response I got was "sorry no warranty with performance cars"
Now, I decided to use this person as I am a martial arts instructor and he is one of my students parents.. What to do?
if I do something to him it may affect my business so we came to an agreement.. Not the best result but a result nonetheless
I purchased a complete big port jap spec EJ207 (8200 rpm redline) and he would fit it for me to compensate for the other engine
didn?t work out too bad, I parted out the old engine and made a lot back! we fitted the engine and got it all running! Was off to pulse racing for a tune the next morning..
final result = 204 kwatw im happy with that as I am still on the 5 speed box and stock sti turbo

nope never had a pulsar!

cheers for the replies.. the 5 speed is going well, lots of this model running between 200 - 220 kw with no drama (so long as you dont drive it like you stole it ;))

mods when motor let go were TBE, silicon intake, top mount, walbro pump, arc airbox

So i sold this car a while ago and bought an MY06 rx8. had some HKS goodies on it when i bought it.. i just did wheels and coilovers (had 4 sets of wheels on this too in 6 months!)
here is a pic the day i sold it :(

before i sold that i wanted something easier as a daily. The rotor was becoming too much so i now drive this:

Its pretty stock. 1999 model type R with 100k kms. Put an Injen on it (flogged it off my bros Ej8). Not much planned for this one though. Prefer to keep this one stock :)
