What is this formula you speak of?

I'm still in the middle of cleaning up and doing a full service so it's gonna be a little while before any decent updates and pics :D slow and steady is more fun in the long run!

hey I didn't do those with mine!

Why the change in car? Surely they aren't all that different? Cool car though c:

joeyybruh
20-11-11, 08:04 PM
actually , their pretty much the same . id prefer a b18c7 EG over a vti-r teggy . LOOOL maybe not over the type R integra though .

same body chasis , seat lining , suspension parts , same engine bay . pretty similar =/ .

JOE.TEG
20-11-11, 10:16 PM
i did the same as you not long ago but i bought the eg as a run around while i was building my dc2. The eg was a great car for what it was but id take my dc2 over it anyday but each to their own. Very keen to see how you go with it. Dont worry about formulas lol, do something unique and different :)

slo-rida
20-11-11, 11:03 PM
Ahhah i have a mugen lip on my teg, so over it. Genuine OEM EG6 lip is the only way to go, simple and clean. BYS rear wing? Already got black housing headlights, amber corners, dc2r shiftboot and yellow foggies coming.

Opinions on intake? I removed the intake resonator today so i'm thinking either a K&N drop in (with cold air feed) or Js replica cf whale dick.

I'll have to agree the dc has a sick interior whereas the eg looks cheap and plasticky with red bull sized cup holders and no armrest! A pair of recaros and dc2r floor mats would make it look decent.

LOL, i find on a sunny day the sunroof tends to fry me even more.

slo-rida
21-11-11, 12:40 AM
I dunno why the EG has a plain glass sunroof... i guess it would get hot under the sun. The DC had heavily black tinted glass, no sunlight whatsoever.

slo-rida
06-12-11, 07:54 PM
I believe it's called 'bumper reinforcement foam'. Just cushions between the bumper and the reinforcement in event of a crash? So if it's a mild crash your radiator will be fine. I dunno, it's pretty hard foam.

Haven't updated in a while cos i've been broke but the DC4 is being parted out so cash is flowing in oh so slowly.

Repco was having mad sale on these so i grabbed a box. If anyone is after castrol magnatec 10w-40, get in quick. $25 for 5L, sale ends in 4 days.

http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/8430/20111221003302.jpg

And after waiting weeks these finally arrived! Inside the box was a bunch of stickers to rice up my ride and a free tape measure

http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/4207/20111221004611.jpg

Wasn't able to take the EG to the JDMST EOYM so i took my DC4 on it's first and last ever meet. Went to check out the new IKEA on the way back and took a snap in the nice lighting.

Nah man it doesn't replace the cup holders. They're still there, pops up below the headunit. It's those thin plastic ones though so only useful for water bottles. Contents of a maccas cup would end up all over your leg.

Sick to death of the rubbing even though i raised the car an inch on the front. Solution? Angle grinder! I probably just made it worse cos i went nuts and just cut off a bunch of rubber and metal.

A genuine 1 piece JDM EG6 wing arrived in the mail :) As expected... auspost could not see the FRAGILE written on the fkn box and threw it around like a piece of meat. They pretty much delivered it with half the wing hanging out the bottom of the box. Partly the seller's fault for not packaging it properly though. Anyway i don't own a heat gun so used a hairdryer to bend it back into shape, the corners were completely farkked, took ages. Had no choice but to use touch up paint to fix the chips.

Comparison of stock wing and EG6. Very subtle difference but it's painted, thinner, long LED brake light, and sticks out more. Sort of a halfway between stock and the infamous sp00n 'style' duckbill. I'm a sucker for OEM shit, fitment (Y).

Hahah yeah bloody EGs lol had to remove side skirts, mudflaps and fender linings just to get the fender off. Had a mountain of screws lying on the ground.

I think he removed the fenders because he completely replaced the speaker wires not just solder the new ones on to the old hence why he had to get into the loom.

Did you run new wires from your HU into the doors? I don't see how it's possible without taking off the fender. There's no room to work at all.

Yeah pretty hard to find these days. Looks nice and different from everyone else with their fake spoons.

Mmhmm :) did it the long way! The stock wires were all rusted and chewed up anyway, rather do it properly now than have a wire snap later on and have to open everything up to find it.

I didn't use the factory speaker wires . my speaker wires go directly to my amp . my headunit is only utilizing the RCA cables , ground , remote , power and accessories . ill show you the the way I did . pm me bro ! :)

Wouldn't you still need to run cables through from the amp to door to power the speakers? Do not understand :(

Uni semester began, horrible weather and laziness keeping this car from progressing. Still haven't wired up my sub/amp so driving around with wires hanging everywhere and missing interior.

Got fresh JDM wiper inserts for the rain season. Looks poof, back to trico next time around

Wheel alignment done. Gonna stay at this height, pretty good for daily imo

And picked up a black recaro SR3 with red stitching. It's not mint condition, might get it rebolstered.

You can buy new genuine bolsters from eBay. It's about $50 per side or something around there

Yeah read a few DIYs on how to replace them but cos mine's shat itself pretty much all along the right side, dunno if i would be able to replace the top part too. There's a small rip as well, have to sew that. Might as well get it all done professionally, not an easy job.

Still on list of things to do is degrease up the bay, blacken hoses and shiny up metals. Not sure if i wanna spray the rocker cover or sand it down and polish it.

Bit trippy when you first install it but once you get used to it, pretty sweet having the wide view. It's practical so gonna keep it

Finally got around to finishing off the audio, tucking wires and putting everything back in.

Nah no visors anymore. Workshops can bring in a wink mirror for you but it'll cost heaps. IIRC fix me garage were selling them but expensive. Just buy from ebay US

Haha nothing exciting happening with this hunk of shit til I can clear out the garage for a much needed heart transplant.

Just went back to OEM front end look. Sold my black housing headlights and amber corners. Got over it, and every bloke has amber corners these days.

Shieeeet weather's had the dick so haven't gotten around to doing any of the minor things I wanted to do. At the moment looking for a B18 wreck to take engine and brakes but no luck so far.

In other news, got into a fight with a pole at uni. Top part was fkd, went in to bare metal and had started to rust. Bottom bit had a few deep scratches that went through the clear coat, couldn't polish them out. Not bad for a 15 minute quick fix ay
