Fuark that's nice, do you have like a background story for the car?

Well I bought it from a nice Irish lad back in August 2009 on the cheaper side. Story goes that he and his brother were shipping a couple of Mk1's escorts back home and needed to sell the car to fund that. When I first saw the car for sale on the Internet I just had to go and have a look as I had been looking at a few others, only missing out on the previous one by minutes (much to my luck really!). It was love at first sight. I didn't know too much about AE86's other than what my manager told me from my first job back in 1999. He had a gold Sprinter and a Starion which were both my fist experience with Japanese sports cars.

So when I saw the car it was in pretty good shape, sat low enough on 13" dished Superlites, had a half cage and no interior. This was the one! Took it for a quick drive up the road, came back and made my offer. Ten minutes later I handed over the deposit and came back later that week with the cash.

Two and a bit years and counting the car has gone through a lot of work getting it back to proper spec, inside and out. I rebuilt the motor in June this year during the uni break and I'm looking forward to finally getting it on the track for some sprints.

Thanks for the kind words people! Almost flawless... Roof needs a repray and the hatch is very rusty. I have another hatch in the garage that needs painting.

sexy car! how come the t40?

Acquired the T40 for $100 in mint condition. Exactly the same as a T50 with no overdrive. Plan is to build a good box from a few as most T50 are stuffed.

very clean car!! all you need now is the trueno pop up lights :P

Or a Trueno!

Clean-az 86 man, very tidy inside and out. Don't see many genuine JDM Kouki Levin's. Love what you have done so far! :D

What are your plans with the car? Street, Circuit, Drift etc.

PS. Is a Zenki lip on the cards?

Plan is to do some circuit work, although that has been the plan for 2 years! Life is hard financially when you're a student... But with the motor rebuilt and going strong it will happen early this year.

Kouki lip is on the cards, try and keep it period correct.
