View Full Version : My BB6 Lude

Hi all, the name's Darrell long time reader, not poster and here is my 1997 Honda Prelude ATTS (the 'forgotten' Honda chassis lol). Bought around April 2011.
Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS) – Similar to Evo's Yaw control just on the front wheels :L also includes colour coded skirts and stuff.
Originally in the market for a DC2, EK/EG or NA S13 I had stumbled across this Lude after a random search on the interWeBZ. Had about 134K on the clock, 2.5” X-force Varex Catback (Uleh spec canon), Short Ram Intake, what seems to be a 'Heavy Duty' clutch (the pedal is very heavy) and a system (could careless about the sub, removed it) and a heavily scraped undercarriage. As well as for the price, I was expecting some things to be replaced and fixed. Btw, it's a manual :)

Thousands later, I now have a decent canvas for a BUDGET/CHEAP/POVO build, not expecting to do much as 1. Getting paid minimum wage sucks and 2. I honestly don't feel it's worth going all out, it is my first car lol.

Anyway, the car had cylinder head leaks, needed new gaskets, a leaking oil pan and was sitting on some nice chopped springs. A full service later, I ended up purchasing an aluminium radiator to replace the rusting copper unit, replaced steering rack, 1.5 or 2” drop Kings (can't remember lol) on Boge shocks.. which is now replaced with Hot Bits Coilovers (Stiff as F*CK!), BFG G-force front tyres, new oil pan, cylinder head seals and gaskets.

So far I have/expecting soon:

JDM Foggies (installed, not hooked up.. yet and to be tinted yellow)
Apexi VAFC (as above)
2.5” Xforce Varex catback (Loud as f*ck)
3” Short ram
Rear Strut Bar (waiting..)
Hurricane Extractors (hopefully to be welded with a 2.5” collector, not installed)
2.5” High Flow Cat (waiting..)
Height adjustable Hot-Bits coilovers
Garage Door Seal lip (to be installed... or buy polyurethane lip)
Tanabe Front Strut Bar
Sprayed black stock rims for that 'JDM Flayva' (Thanks to my good mates)
Sparco driver seat (waiting for cousin to hand it over for xmas hehe)

Future plans/Wish-list

Get headers and High Flow Cat fitted
Bigger resonator or new exhaust tip (it's just way too loud.. not a fan of canons either)
Cover air filter
JDM Type S Lip + Grille or P1 Lip
68mm Throttle body w/ port matched IM
VAFC installed & Tuned
02 Wideband sensor
Darker tint
Set of lighter rims, stance?
Sway&Tie Bars
Short Shifter
Possible internals-s2 pro1/2 cams, p&p, supertech vt & type s pistons (highly unlikely lol)

Overall I'm happy with how the car handles and there's the torque that comes handy with the H22, especially in such a heavy and solid chassis. But yes, I'll try and keep this thread updated with my el cheapo/budget build, I'm not rich! so I'm usually scouring forums, friends of friends and ye old eBay haha. Nonetheless, your opinions are much valued and I hope to meet a lot of you in person. Cheers.

Cheers for the feedback guys, much appreciated! Btw mig, what a coincidence you commented haha me and Jonathan 'lovelyqoo' were talking about your lude this morning when I picked up the grille, he sold his car earlier today i'm sure haha.

Well I was free all day today and decided to install a few parts I had lying around my room for the past few days

Rear strut bar

Type S Grille w/ Rubber Lip (It'll do for now until I find a decent priced Type S lip!)

Black Tow Hook

and my next agenda/s on the car

I will be keeping the stock cat for now, but the collector will be modified to 2.5" and these bad boys should be installed by next thursday :)

Love the lip and grill champ, much stability increase with the rear strut ?

23-12-11, 06:48 PM
Cheers! I'm not too sure, haven't really tested it out. Don't think it'll make TOO much of a noticeable difference though.

Well Christmas is always a joyful time of year and well me and my cousins managed to finish my old man's 750ml bottle of Crown Royal last night.
So I figured... why not? haha

Haters gonna hate, I don't mind it all.. only problem is that we should of had the bigger bottle to begin with, so the fitment isn't too flush.. nonetheless It'll do and I kinda dig it :)

PS: Hope you guys had an enjoyable xmas !
