LOL! Well pistons and conrods are in customs. Took a while because they were back-ordered. So the real work commences very shortly! I've been so patient... proud of myself. But damn this thing's going to be insane!!! Can't wait to take it to the track again, really have lost the track addiction since the GT-R's been in the shop. :(

Your R32 is gorgeous...I just wish we could have them in the states..I hate the US just because of that..we have soo many regulations..

18-09-06, 10:36 AM
Hey Justin, can I ask who did you get to tune your car? And was it done on a 2WD or 4WD dyno?

Justin Fox
18-09-06, 07:24 PM
Will be tuned by Indy IS Motor Racing on a 4 wheel dyno.

Technique
17-10-06, 01:27 PM
Nice one mate!

Beau told me you got it back! and you've swapped turbos too?

Justin Fox
17-10-06, 02:25 PM
Yes sir, put smaller GT-SS turbos in for better response (it is a circuit car afterall).

Loving it, tuned to 268.8kw at all 4's now (by Indy at IS Motor Racing) and it packs a pretty big punch up top and isn't too laggy at all either. :)

VTECMACHINE
17-10-06, 03:40 PM
man justin... I really wanna see how your GTR goes. It looks and sounds like an absolute BEAST!

Technique
17-10-06, 04:34 PM
What else did you do to the motor while it was out?

gt-ss are similar to 34 n1's right? .42 and .64 rear?

what boost you got them pumping?

Justin Fox
17-10-06, 05:16 PM
1.2 bar only.

Motor? Everything man lol. I better upgrade that list on the front page!!! Will do now.

Trolls Royce
16-01-07, 10:47 PM
Reading over that list, there are a lot of parts I'd love for my car.

Top of the list however would be the Nismo bodykit bits. Where did you get them?

Can't wait to check this thing out sometime.

Deviliss
16-01-07, 11:46 PM
man that 1 hot GTR, i love it.

Justin Fox
16-01-07, 11:58 PM
Anabolic: That list is a bit old. Update it in a bit. Nismo bits were on the car from Japan but the original Nismo rear bonnet lip spoiler and front bonnet lip had both started to wear (the rear one rusted!!!). So I replaced the rear lip with an Eastbear lip from Powerplay Imports and I got the front bonnet lip from Peter at Bodyform, also the side skirts from Peter at Bodyform (do a search for his details, he fits and paints).

Trolls Royce
17-01-07, 12:13 AM
ok, cool. So Peter has the N1 sideskirts and stuff like that?

P.S. Reading about your car is a bad influence :)

Justin Fox
17-01-07, 12:20 AM
Peter should have the lot and I vouch for his quality work.

Tazz
17-01-07, 01:20 AM
whats the go with the harness mounting points in the back? I was under the impression that the couldn't go more than 15 degrees from parralell to the ground, due to the fact that if you were involved in an accident it has the cabability to compress your spine?

proconcept
17-01-07, 01:44 AM
there is a recommended range of safe angles and an acceptable range. for the shoulder strap, it's 0-10 degrees from the horizontal (recommended) and 10-50 degrees (acceptable). on a production car, using seat belt mounts as mounting points for the harness is ok, if the angles are within the range.

outside these ranges, the risk for a compression injury is high.

Justin Fox
17-01-07, 10:54 AM
All R32 GT-R Group-A racing cars use these same points.

Bunta
17-01-07, 11:47 PM
Was on the track with this car back in November at Wakefield, awesome car mate!

Tazz
18-01-07, 12:54 AM
interesting.. i think i'll look into harness mounting points again as i'm really keen on one for when i'm at the track since the person who owneed my recaro before me obviously was a little overwieght and has pushed the sides out a little bit :P

Holly crap awesome budget and smick car........

Please for your own safety don't wear the harness positioned that way. Even a tap at 20-30km/hr will leave you with a back injury.

How much did it cost for the rebuild or new motor?

Cheers.

I Love The Wheels Especially.

Justin Fox
23-03-07, 09:27 AM
Cheers peeps.

MaxZmus, the angles of the harness are acceptable. I've checked! And all Group-A racing cars run the same harness set-up.

Wheels are going unfortunately. Fatter, wider rims replacing them soon :( I will miss the Nismos a LOT.

yeah i agree, i am inlove with the tyre more :P

Justin Fox
12-05-07, 10:24 AM
Haha yeah guys the main goal was fitting a 265 wide tyre. I wasn't so fussed with the wheels. CE28's, TE37's, they're a classic rim already and both very functional.

Functional being the key word these days with the GT-R. I'm trying to be less fussy about appearance as this car is going to see a lot more track time from now on.

12-05-07, 01:59 PM

its killing me wanna see it already:)

loving the interior:)
did you work out how much weight you stripped?

Justin Fox
15-05-07, 07:37 PM
Not sure about the weight. I have saved sooo much though. Air-con is out, there was a lot of weight right there. Stereo is out, that was also heavy. All the tar is out, sound deadening/heat matt, carpet, trims, roof lining + trim, smaller battery, carbon driveshaft, seats.

17-05-07, 09:37 PM
what kind of a difference did the carbon driveshaft add?

rukus
17-05-07, 10:21 PM
what kind of a difference did the carbon driveshaft add?

im guessing it'd be similar to lightened flywheel..

a bit of weight loss, slightly less drivetrain loss, improved acceleration and deceleration?

Justin Fox
17-05-07, 11:42 PM
It's half the weight of a stock one. 7kg's in comparison to 14. It's not on the car yet so I'll be sure to report back.

Cheers for the feedback peeps, it's almost there but there's still a fair bit to go.

A'PEXi - Of-course you know I've been thinking about a bonnet + wing for years now. It has to be perfect. R32 GT-R aftermarket bonnets are ALL crap in my opinion. I like some elements of some but nothing has been 100% perfect yet so I might end up doing a custom one.

GT-Wing: I want a Voltex wing but they're like $3-4k. I could settle for a Sard or Ings+ we'll see.

I only count three pieces on the chassis braces. Where's the fourth?
Yo Brendan, how's the Silvia going?! The 4th is under the exhaust resonator, you can just see the arm of it peeping out from under the resonator :)

Anabolic: I've driven many cars at Wakies and in comparisson, this car just doesn't feel good around there. I feel like I'm wrestling with the car as it's so heavy and Wakies is so bumpy and tight. I have barely enough time to think between the corners. Having said that the car is perfect on Eastern Creek so I'm looking forward to setting a fast time there.

Don't put a wing on it dude... The car has such classic lines. You can't ruin them.

Genmetal is not really my favourite colour for a 32 GTR, but for some reason, this one looks right. A big wing and gaudy bonnet would ruin it.

josh2.5
21-05-07, 05:22 PM
Im with Anabolic. I think a vented bonnet and big wing would only ruin it.

That said the car is built purely for performance and the wing and bonnet would obviously improve the performance. I guess you have to weigh up whats more important.

LOL.

Technique: Not sure it's a Voltex. Voltex are dry carbon and super light weight. They are the pinnacle in GT wings in my opinion. The stands usually go all the way to the edge of the wing.

The one on that Saurus car has the stands closer to the centre not to mention a big bump in the middle of the wing design itself. It looks a lot like the Buddy club GT wing:

Not sure if its a Sard wing or not, but its definitely not a Sard Fuji wing (which is on our drift car).

Go Voltex Justin if you can afford it! They are simply stunning in person. That was my dream wing for the drift car (especially the wider ones to suit our wide-body) but it was just too expensive

Voltex can't be THAT expensive can it Charles? I am assuming $3-5k for a wing? Surely it can't be more than that. I've not seen one in real life though. Would like to.

Yes been thinking about a carbon bootlid just for the GT-Wing which will be on the car just for EC.

They're more known for their suspension parts which allow a whole lot more suspension alignment possibilities over stock suspension components.

Jing, the price depends on the model and width. Min width for our drift car was 1700mm...

yup but it starts off around 100k so if you were on a budget you can grab one for cheap :D

i think voltex also makes wings for other companies such as j's racing?

Trolls Royce
24-05-07, 07:43 AM
Dumb question most likely, but will you need to reinforce the bootlid with something that large on it? Or do you not think it will generate enough downforce to be a problem?

I dunno how much flex you'd have in the skin of a bootlid, but I guess it's maybe something to take into account?

Trolls Royce
24-05-07, 07:44 AM
Oh yeah, and if you do the wing, I reckon that Top Secret diffuser would compliment it nicely. You might need a slightly larger front lip to match though.

Wow I already have those wheels! Nice one! I did have that front lower lip/diffuser but I sold it as I found that I was scraping it on the street let alone bashing ripple strips no the track!!!

In regards to a wing + boot. I would think a stock boot should hold up but a fibreglass boot might not? These serious wings aren't just bolted down on top of the boot though, most people do use some very serious backing plates under the boot.

One of the best examples of a R32 GT-R on the internet!

I have the LMGT4 18x9.5 +12 and they kinda look off as they stick bit outwards... What were your alignment settings to fit those massive wheels?

Is that the 330mm or 350mm Nardi Rally?

Again props to a beautiful vehicle!

Cheers,

DuGong
25-05-07, 09:49 PM
some cases the spoiler is not connected to the boot.. some spoilers are connected to the chassis... the boot might not stand teh amount of down force that the spoiler puts out.. it also depends on the angle of the spoiler u put it at to..

i read some where that it made dents on the boot where the mounts are located.

well it really depends how far u wanna go with the car...

i prefer the first moulding products.. looks super!

It's actually looking like the car is resting entirely on the trolleys, which would make sense for a wheel alignment/corner weighting.

Surely the trolleys would be designed for the purpose though....

Cheers Joe. I assume you have a GT-R? 18x9.5 +12 will be perfect on an R33/34 and yes will need massaging on a 32. I've got enough sussy gear to massage these wheels in quite easily. I'm tempted to run -5degrees on the front but will be settling for -3 and yes that's a 350mm Nardi deep corn.

Nope, its a photo of me in front of the gibson motorsports winfield 32GTR... In my driveway >.<;;

Helps having a dad in the head-honcho levels of nissan in the early 90's. Dad got to take godzilla to the motor show - he was in charge of the nissan stand, and got perks such as being given a patrol + car trailer + godzilla, and letting them stay at home over night.

I was in heaven ^_^

Also, meeting Richards and Skaife at every track day from when I was 4 was pretty cool.

R32 GT-R = God.

Read every single page on this thread, what a clean example of a classic icon!

If only it was silver it would be my ultimate R32 GTR (still have memories from the early 90's when my dad's mate had locally delivered silver GTR, the GTR was just crazy eye popping wild- the only thing to come close @ the time was the VL Walkinshaw or the VN Group A)

Hey Justin,

Did you see Beer Baron's thread on Skylines Australia about his R32 restoration build up? Reminded me of your car in a way due to the attention to detail. Although, it's a little tamer overall.

GET RID OF THAT JAZZ MR FOX!

Dont let this poor 'godgilla' sit and sleep!

I say use her as a daily, dont matter if your at the lights and your cant hear your passenger try talk over the beautiful note from the godly 26'.

To be in your shoes and owning such a beauty, i would spend way too much time inside her :D pardon the pun.

Why lie Mr.fox
