Hey all,

After a few months of hunting through carsales and various used car dealers for something to replace my '07 Corolla, i finally stumbled across this NC MX-5 in a yard around the corner from my work.

It had 69,000km on the clock, with full service history from Mazda dealers in Hornsby and Parramatta, the interior was in near mint condition, and the exterior was in very good condition too.

So after taking it for a quick test drive (nothing odd to report there), i put down a deposit and patiently waited for the delivery date to arrive.

After around 2 weeks i was finally handed the keys to my new baby...

Not sure what i want to do to it yet (i'm still learning about MX-5s and the various tuning options for them), but i'll hopefully have some sort of "wish list" sorted in the near future.

Cheers.

Thanks Yoey!

I hope to get one of those AWB gauge clusters mentioned in the MX-5 picture thread at some point. Just need to find out where to order them from.

Nice nc!
My brother has one ATM, great cars for pure driving pleasure!
If you want the gauges send Jesse streeter an email, he wil be able to get em!
Best mod for these to start is swaybars, you think it handles well now? Wait till you pop some white line sways and maybe even coils in!
Then a cosworth sc kit ;P

I've seen you're thread, nice NC you've got there. ;)
Out of curiosity, is you're Magnaflow exhaust single or twin tip?

Haven't seen that many do any mods to there's at all on carsales so it must be that good stock.

Thanks MaxZmus, NC's are pretty fun cars. Not super powerfull, but they're very light & nimble, and just simply a joy to drive. :D

Never been a huge fan of NC's but they've been growing on me lately. Looks like a good pick up!

Don't worry if you don't have the money or what not to mod it, NC's are one of the best out of the box cars to just drive and on those sunny days nothing is better than dropping the top and cruising around.

If you get a chance go for a drive through the national park down to the gong and then drive over to mac pass to really find out how good these things are!

Beautiful car:)

The fist thing you HAVE to do is get rid of the SUV look.
Eibach lovering springs from IL Motorsports will get it down about 4,5 cm.

Here is a pic of mine after lowering:

what else did you do to your car besides from the kit and lower Pelle?

Since buying the MX-5 all i've really done is just general servicing and driving (lots of driving ). In the past few weeks though, i've finaly managed to score some aftermarket goodies to play with.

First to arrive was a Cobalt short shifter kit and a Carbing shift knob...

... and this weekend i paid a visit to JDMyard to collect some new wheels. As you can see, it was a bit of a mission to get them home safely.

I still need to source some tyres and wheel nuts, so it might be a little while before i can throw them on.

Also, whats your thoughts on the short shifter?

Since my last update some changes have been made to the MX-5.
Firstly, i wasn't 100% happy with the feel of the Carbing gear knob, so i ended up selling it and refitting the stock item.
Along the way i sourced some wheel nuts so i can finally get around to fitting the new wheels(should be getting some tyres fitted this week too).

Then just after new years i got a hold of some Buddy Club coilovers. I took a quick shot of how the car sits while on a MX-5 cruise this morning. Will take a few more pics when i get a chance.

Yeah i was there. That paid parking section felt like a minefield though, was constantly worried that the grass was hidding a large rock/pothole/etc.

Thanks Regie. I've been meaning to set up a garage thread for a little while now.
