Hi guys,

here's some photo's of my car I took on Sunday. Hope you enjoy, she's stock apart from HID's and tinted rear lights.

Pics were taken with a basic point and shoot...and the light was fading...

clean! what's next for the car?

Thanks,

well I am after some nice JDM wheels....then a good quality exhaust...+ potentially some intake work including a plenum spacer...keeping it NA.

Was interested in some front lips, but they will be shortlived due to the everyday nature of the cars use.

It's my daily driver and it's quite stiff in current form so will steer clear of suspension for now.

Get swaybars. You won't regret it.

Springs and dampers, if you're not attacking corners regularly, isn't necessary as the 350Z is pretty well sorted. It could do with being a little softer for single bumps (my Tein Flex rides better, when hitting a single bump, than OEM).

Hi guys,

thought i'd post an update...JDMST is a bad influence and has made me go and get new wheels. Picked them up today and put them on...

They are 19x9.5 upfront and 19x10 on the rears..

You'll have to wait till the Sep EOMM to see them. *Hint* Jtuned site has a 350z with the same wheels....

Plus got new plates as a birthday present, just my name on it...

Cleaning brakes and wheel arch area in preparation...

How do u like these black NUTS ;)
Can't believe how light these are compared to the stock nuts...
http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb287/Taz_79/IMGP20012.jpg

Crappy picture very hard to see the phatness of 10" rears on 275's...fill up those wheel arch bulges much better than the stock wheels...

Wheels revealed!

Hi guys, here are some pics of the new wheels : Enkei RPF1 19x9.5 +20 (front) 19x10 +19 (rear)

Tyres: Pirelli P-Zero Rosso 245/35/19 (front) 275/35/19 (rear)

The fronts clear the 4 pot Brembo's and there's a different offset on the rear to fill the guards and get a bit of dish/concave action happening. You can see the difference here:

They were professionally painted by a spray painter, was done by the previous owner.

So won't peel or fade/crack like ive seen on some other cars done with a can...

Here's another pic..

http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb287/Taz_79/IMG_3009.jpg

Did a full service including oil (Royal Purple), Gearbox oil and diff oil, plus added a Trust Foam Panel Air Filter. Seemed to rev smoother especially at the top end.

UPDATE: 24/12/07

Removed the stock exhaust and Installed a Fujitsubo Legalis R Muffler and Mid Pipe today with the help of a friend. Very proud that installed it myself.

Went for a quick test drive, the sound is awesome, has more top end and the exhaust is top quality. Doesn't drone, sounds stock at idle, but gets a deep growl and turbine like sound after 3000rpm with an even silkier smooth rev up to redline now.

Very happy with it, plus I imagine it will be easy to live with for an everyday car.

Didn't take any pre or during pics, will take some pics of it installed, which won't be too exciting to look at, but the end result was worth the few hours of hard work!

Mods so far:
* Enkei RPF1's - F 19x 9.5 +20, R 19x20 +19 (Pirelli P-Zero rubber)
* Trust drop in air filter element
* HID Kit
* Fujitsubo Legalis R Exhaust system

I do remember saying something about keeping it stock with maybe some wheels ;)

The main concept i've wanted to stick to is to enhance the existing car with light mods rather than making it too show or track oriented or loose the feeling that made me buy the car. This way I can keep enjoying it as my daily driver.

Thanks for the compliments guys,

I bought the car stock but it had the tinted reflectors, rear lights and indicators on the bumper already done.

I think people love it or hate it, I'm planning on getting the later model LED brake lights later down the track, but would rather spend the money on Eibach springs and some sway bars - glad my wife doesn't read this forum ;)

You didnt buy from a realestate agent in wattle grove, cause i remember seeing a silver one with tinted lights etc but everything else was stock. To be honest i havent seen it lately at all.

Did you post a thread about JDM whores and stuff?? And why do people buy JDM parts...

Hehe, knew someone would say this..

Those posts had more to do with the JDM for the sake of it and the trend towards bling parts and a lack of originality. I can stick by that.

The Enkei wheels are super light, strong and quite rare on a 350z and I got the offsets I wanted - they have some great racing pedigree though. The Rays wheel nuts were only purchased once I had the wheels and they are much lighter than stock. With the wider wheels and rubber I get better driveability and ride quality plus much better cornering grip.

The exhaust was an idea I had flirted with for a while and finally took the plunge as a 350z forum member was selling his cheap due to a change of cars. Came highly recommended and met my needs as a daily driver - no drone, adds proven power and legal.

If I was a JDM whore I would have bought the Amuse exhaust but its ear splittingly loud - But cant say I dont like it! Local produced stuff didnt suit my needs here as had plenty of experience with custom stuff and much less hassle with quality parts now available.

No need to justify my decisions but hardly think I am in the bling or JDM whore category - not that theres anything wrong with that ;) If all else fails I will blame it on the influence of this forum for leading me astray and turning my weak will into this JDM whore you speak of :)

Have seen my car in Silver with Work Meisters and SSR Professors in black with a polished lip, looks ok but in my opinion would look better on a WHITE or BLACK car rather than silver.

I love the tough JDM look, but my overall aim for this car is to make something that is closer to a factory tuned special rather than something too hardcore as I need to keep it Police, Driveway and also budget friendly as its my daily driver. Maybe im too mature for my age (28) but prefer the subtle mods to the outrageous stuff on anything daily driven. If I had garage space and wasnt married with a mortgage I would have a track weapon with hardcore written all over it to suit my alter ego.

Tangent warning: To me this car is a compromise in the best of ways, I looked at cars for 3 months, weighed up several models including a Golf Gti MkV (188kw with ECU flash), Audi A4 B6 Turbo, V35 Skyline 350GT, FPV F6 Typhoon, Mazda Rx8, Liberty GT, WRX, Lancer Evo 6,8&9, S15 with modding cash left over, S2000, New MX5, plus other weird flights of fancy in between to find something that had performance, torquey, driveable power curve, modern comfort, practicality, Sex appeal (or Taz magnetism -i.e. was something I got excited about), interior was a big factor, and would suit daily driving duties with some track fun and ongoing potential.

In the end the practicality lost out to pure lust, had wanted a 350z for some time but suits the criteria and the hatch area has managed to fit some large posters etc for work too vs. something with a small boot.

Its not as quick as an EVO down the quarter or as chuckable as an S2000 or as practical as a Golf Gti but in the end the compromises are what made all the difference.

Same goes for mods, I could be a serious JDM whore, but that would be in the hardcore sense re: more time attack focussed! But the compromise for me is something classy and clean that isnt over the top or too trend or fad driven.

New mods list just for you - Takata Harnesses, Bride seats and just for looks Big Brake Kit to replace these stock brakes as they arent JDM enough - Kidding!

Oh yeah, back on topic - thanks for the compliments!
