For crying out loud, we don't need this shit down here.

HUMMER is going down under. GM Holden Executive Director Sales, Marketing and Aftersales (say that ten times fast), Alan Batey, just made the announcement at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney. After announcing 16 other new models that will be arriving for 2007 and beyond, Holden pulled back a huge curtain to give Australians their first glimpse of the HUMMER H3.
Despite sentiments suggesting that high fuel prices and falling demand for SUVs represented an awkward time to launch a 4,800-pound military-inspired vehicle, Holden said it believes in HUMMER's "iconic design and absolute, unparalleled off-road ability".
"No, I think it's a great time to launch HUMMER in Australia," Batey said, "I think the response to it is going to be awesome. The SUV is down but it is still sizeable, and it's for [Holden] to conquer because we're currently not there. But it is a niche, it's not going to be a mainstream seller."
Only the H3, powered by a 3.7-litre five-cylinder gas engine will be available, at least initially. Other engines and bodystyles might follow, but Holden marketing director Alan Batey says, "There are no plans as yet. We'll see how the H3 goes before looking beyond it. I tell you what, I've been driving it around town and it really gets a lot of attention... At the end of the day people will buy HUMMER because of the brand, what it stands for, and the looks." The first H3s will begin arriving in Australia in mid-2007. Those vehicles will be built at GM's Port Elizabeth facility in South Africa. No pricing was announced.

Hummer got to be matt black. Everything even the wheels. Looks mean.

I think it will only block traffic with that small engine in such a big ship.

yep, gay indeed. piece of crap based on a tin-foil GM chassis. only a hummer by badge.
imagine how much shit a soccer mum can wipe out in one of those!
Man, people still say "gay" as a derogatory term? Maybe I've just worked with too many gay people...

I have gay acquaintances, and have heard even them using it like that, though it was probably an inside joke.
... or maybe an outside joke?
*rimshot*
being gay is the in thing atm.

hmm.....they are actually much bigger than a landcruiser. I have seem one at a petrol station and it's a tank! unbelieveable big.
But are you talking about the H3, or the Hummer? The H3 is much smaller than the standard Hummer.

There is quite a few H2's getting around now, compared to the original Hummer anyway. This new H3 is quite baby compared to the H2, and I haven't seen one on the road yet...

Um, small engine + heavy car = shit performance and bad economy... lest I remind everyone that the original humvee came out with a 6.5L V8 just to pull it along. Looks like Holden got it wrong again (but then, they arent renowned for making anything decent anyway)... wait till the recalls begin on this one!
Why dont people just buy a landcruiser (they never break, and you dont look anything near as tryhard as u do in the hummer)??

H2 looks big compared to a LandCruiser, and the original Hummer look behemoth compared to an H2 lol.
Imagine if this thing takes of here in Australia, we're all screwed...

These things are deceptively small, I sat in it at the motorshow and found it cramped and the rear seat useless, for reference sake Im 6ft 1, so your proffessional athletes are gonna struggle to fit in this thing.
Its about the size of an x-trail or something simmilar, nothing like I had imagined before seeing it in the flesh.
There is going to be some dissapointed NRL players when they cant fit their "posse" in the back

I've seen quite a few around. I give the finger to anyone I see driving one. Nothing but an overrated peice of American rubbish in the same vein as other bloody toorak tractors.
Saw a black one yesterday (in HK) and the interior of the H3 is really nice !
is the H3 for sale in SYD yet ????

not yet i think..
but coming very soon?
actually yeah it is... but only for h3's in yellow (from what ive heard...)
if u want another colour, u have to till february to get them...
oh and my dad wants to trade in his '04 rodeo for one... i seriously hope he doesnt though!
Ive seen a couple of H3s on the road over the last couple of montsh! ..... they're definitely for sale in Australia through various Hummer Dealers. http://www.hummeraustralia.com.au/
not yet i think..
but coming very soon?
i see, i reckon Syd takes too long to get new cars in ! don't you fink?
Does any1 thinks, the H3's still too big ??
In person, i didnt think the H3 was any bigger than a Landcruiser...... its just a smaller scaled weaker shittier version of the H2.
Coz when i saw it in person, i think the body is just a little too wide, if some garage's a little smaller it definitely can't fit the H3 in there.
Yeah great, more oversized 4WDs on our roads.
people goto think.
the H3, is tiny in comparison to the H2,
the H3 is the size of landcruiser, and i dont mean the new massive ones either.
its just a poor mans hummer.
its just a little massive !

The H3 isn't that big, think medium sized SUV. It's kinda like the padded bra version of the Hummer, made to look bigger than it is :P
and Brasher is right... They have been described basically as a reverse-tardis! (impossibly small space inside compared to what it looks like outside)
they are american and gay.. they arent even big anymore.. the old ones were cool cause they were massive.
and now with no diesel motor they really are lame, 91 hilux ftw

you guys livin in the dark? haven't the H3's been on the road for over 6months? there are so many H3 limos that it's getting kinda ghey, really has a wank factor about it..
and the H3's are TINY compared to the H1 and 2's
mainstream marketable junk...what a disgrace to the ones used for battle
I think u'll find the Hummer Limos are all H2s .... ive not seen a H3 Limo in Australia yet.
The new hummers are crap. There's only 1 oldschool hummer around that I've seen. The massive green one, rego YAN-11S or something like that. That's hot. Takes up most of the road lol.

There's two of these things in my town. The owner hires them out for weddings etc etc. Everyone see's them and goes "Oooooh a Hummer!" General public seems to like them.

wtf is with all this SUV stuff? I honesty don't get it, people talk of the huge amounts of room in them, the great high seating position...it being huge. What's the need for the high driving position? You need the internal space, get a wagon. SUV's shouldn't really exist, you need a 4x4, get a proper one that you're actually going to take off road...
Like everyone else, this thing is ugly, and a waste of tin. Rich college football players, get some taste.

not to mention all the formal events that had recently passed.. .
i used to get wow'd when i saw the hummer limo, but then after having to see it once every so often, it just lost its "omg a hummer" factor
Nice interior?
Maybe if your a child and like LEGO blocks..
it's all damn square and upright in there, and so is your seating position. If you are regular sized your knees rub against the dash/glovebox, it's the opposite of the Tardis in there..
Massive on the outside and tiny on the inside, the front and rear leg room is laughable.
It's so plasticky I can still smell the fumes..

h3 hummer is ridiculously small i sat in one at the motorshow as well and i had no leg room in the passenger seat. If you were to buy one and you were around my height (180cm) you wouldn't be using your backseats unless you had a dog. I have a good idea for the H4 hummer though. http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&link=BAGwarthog
I mean look at the stats on this thing.
Weight: 3 tonnes (3.25 tons)
Length: 6.1 meters (20 feet.)
Height: 3.2 meters (10.5 feet)
Width: 3 meters (9.75 feet)
Power plant: 12.0 L liquid-cooled hydrogen-injected ICE
Range: 790 kilometers (490 miles)
Main armament: M41 12.7mm LAAG (M12 LRV version)
Main armament: M68 25mm Gauss Cannon (M12G LAAV version)
Unit Replacement Cost: cR. 52000.00
NOW THAT is a real SUV.

Oooh yeah, the best part for me in playing Halo is driving the Warthog, while my wife uses the gun on the back..
