it's quite easy... you just screw an eye bolt into where the rear seat belt goes. One where the belt harness clip thing is, and the other in the back corner. Mount them there... ta daaa..

well, no it doesnt actually.

and im not going for sex spec look.. i dont want 20" oversized chromies on my car, i just said i like the look of the copy/immitation Konig wheels that look like the RAYS wheels on that white S15 that won the wheel innovation award at autosalon. Is there such thing as JDM Bling? cos i seen some JDM drift examples with chrome te37s at the Sema show pics 2007. Is that classed as sex spec?

what makes you think im going sex spec? the ride height? or the chrome jdm look Konig copy of the RAYS titanium wheels?

i <3 JDM y0!

i want to buy a CF bonnet too when one pops up lol. The rear is going up a bit next weekend anyhoo :) its a bit low, and i only just got them installed and not even had time to adjust them yet

anyway thanks for the feedback =]

oh and thanks mark and liam :)

chr1s
15-03-08, 08:32 PM
Well for starters, the car is simply too low, it might handle abit better, thats because of the less transfer of body roll, but I dare you to take it to the track as it's setup at the moment.

I dunno, just being so low... all the other guys running on 20's buy coilovers simply because you can dumpz teh car...

I'll give my honest opinion when I see it raised.

OoSKYLINEoO
15-03-08, 11:48 PM
thanks all :)

i think my next mod will be some nice 18x8 and 18x9's to fill the guards, hopefully ones like the Konigs with titanium look lip, i was actually looking at GTR33 rims but for the going price of them just a bit more i can get a set of brand new rims like the ones pictured :)

and i just got back from a drive out to penrith and im really happy with the suspension as it is :D ride is really smooth and better then i expected. I will be raising the rear end tomorrow myself as the car was scraping and sparking driving along mulgoa rd @ Penrith tonight...

still really happy with the results :P got a smile from ear to ear :D

thanks again to Anth for the install, top job and excellent service. Very easy to talk to and friendly people :)

Hehe. Yeah my plans before were to simply get wheels that will fit stock guards with some flaring but now I am pretty much going half widebody. Had I known, I would have probably just gone full widebody and got wider rims with even lower offset .. but yeah .. play with what I have now I guess

Rad
16-03-08, 09:59 AM
I don't think the titanium lipped rims will suit. They seem to go better on cars with darker and/or neutral paint.

I don't think the titanium lipped rims will suit. They seem to go better on cars with darker and/or neutral paint.

Considered something bronze/metallic silver?

yeh i like the look of polished silver wheels too, just the titanium look wheel looks different to every other wheel on the market right now.

i dont have a member thread yet sorry. i will post one sometime in the future and put all pics there instead :)

edit**

i adjusted the coilovers to the highest possible safe point (left 2cm of tread in the purches/cups) and measured all 4 so they were even lol

the coils themselves are all the way up and cant go any higher... that means it wasnt on the lowest setting yesterday

heres a pic of the car at its highest setting

http://img208.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0993rx7.jpg

i posted a link so those that dont want to see another pic dont have to. i also edited my previous post so i wouldnt make another one. Lastly i only updated this post cos chr1s wanted to see it a bit higher. Anyway this is the last post in this thread from me on this issue.

IMO (Notice I put IMO so dont flame me for this...)

The car is way to low, almost bordering on dangerous!

A couple of points...

1- Camber... YOU HAVE LOTS!!! What is that like 3-4 deg of neg camber on the rear? Just wait and see what happens with that when you have to jump on the brakes in a hurry, Or even turn too sharply into a corner... or swerve to miss something.

2- Thats if you pull up at all... Brakes... being that low, how much weight transfer do you think will happen over the front to give you traction when you brake?

3- Suspension travel... you have none. A low car is cool, a low sensible car is even cooler, please becareful you dont start tracking left to right because the tyres have no traction over small imperfections on the road.

4- Suspension arm geometry... if you understood how important this is, i'm sure your car wouldn't be that low.

5- Police... Prepare for rape...

Look, despite what people have said, i'm all for the 'your car, your style thing', if you want it sex-spec, do it sex spec. If this was what you aimed for, then be happy! Just realise, most of us on here are hardcore JDMers so put your flame suit on! If its a daily driver, my suggestion would be raise it, and raise it quick.
Again, im not flaming you, im not attacking you nor Anth, he got them installed on a Saturday, cheaply and I'm sure did a top quality job, I just thought I'd point out some saftey issues.

That can't be the highest setting!?

boss,

its on the highest setting, shocks are fully extended. Purches/cups are all the way up with 2cm of tread left inside them for safety.

thats all the pics of it on the highest setting. I cannot adjust the camber on these coilovers, only the damper and height.

theres nothing else i can do except maybe put spacers/washers in the strut tops which will only be about 15mm anyway.

it might be the fact its sitting on 16s with low profile tyres. Im fully aware of being raped by cops, i was extremely paranoid taking it out on saturday before i had time to raise it. I know your trying to help but yea, its the coilovers themselves. tried everything but they wont go any higher

Nismo clear side indicators :)

ps - i did raise it :) i posted links 2 posts up above yours of how it sits on the highest possible setting. i re-meausred the clearance on the exhaust and now sits 3" off the gound (about 77mm) compared to the 35mm clearance previously (it still looks low though..)
i'll post a member thread soon, just waiting on a few more parts to arrive :P

i think so too :) would love to get those rims i posted above with the titanium lip, just need to save for them now :P

and they ride the same as they were when they were lowered cos the only adjustment i made was with the purches/cups. It could of been lowered more by adjusting the coil which would also compress the shock making for a stiff ride. But if i did that the car would actually be touching the floor. When it was adjusted previously the purches were wound all the way down, the coils were all the way up, and the shocks were fully extended so the ride was smooth

Well it's not too bad for the axleback. For the jazz at least.

Initially I was skeptical too but considering it's like 500-600 for spoon n1 and I pay about 50-100 more. I think spoon n1 is only stainless steel not titanium if my memory serves me correctly.

Yeah, I think Mugen N1 and J's 60RS and 70RR are the only full titanium ones. Others have titanium mufflers.

How much does it weigh? The 70RR I have is just over 2kgs.

It's a genuine EK9 shift boot, so it's a perfect fit and there's no need for any modifications.

The scoop goes all the way down to the front bar so get cold air from the front bar. The big pimple is to preserve air for instant response, so its basically a CAI with the response if not better of a SRI

Apprantly carbon is meant to be good against heat soak, but i'm sure its not as bad as having a pod filter in the engine bay.

Awesome. I have the DC5 one on order from J's too. It's nowhere near as crazy as the S2k one though. Did you need to upgrade your engine mounts? On the DC5 J's say the stadard mounts cannot be used through risk of the intake being cracked under engine movement. It bolts onto the bodywork and the gearbox housing on the top.

Wooah, going hard Shane! Can't wait to see the GT4 back on the road.

can i ask what is the advantage of having such a large intake flange when the actual diameter of the inlet of the turbo is much smaller? or is that an optical illusion in the photo?

Its an option on the garrett site:
http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT30/GT3071R_700382_3.htm

All my intake pipe work is 4" from my older turbo as well, Also a few GT4's in the UK are running the exact same turbo and making 340bhp @ 1 bar, reaching full boost by 3500rpm.
