Hey fellas,

I've been registered for a while now, but finally got around to put up some specs on my ride. I would put pics up now, but as all my pics are on my pc and there is no photo uploader function on this forum, i'll have to sign up to imageshack or something and post em up later.

Its not really JDM-stylin at the moment, but i'm working on that (love everything JDM!)....
CAR
1992 N14 SSS

ENGINE
Engine is light tuned SR20DE with CAI, catback exhaust, NGK platinum plugs and Top Gun leads.

It might not have the technology and aftermarket support(Well it has some, at least) of all you B/K-series boys but I think it gets up and boogies nicely and is quite responsive.
Im leaving this area for the moment and considering my options. The engine has alot of km's so ideally, I'd like to get a second SR20DE to build up, or possibly a SR16VE or SR20VE, not sure yet.

SUSPENSION
I found the SSS to handle pretty good from the factory, but have improved on it slightly with Lovells super-low springs, Whiteline front sway bar link bushes, Whiteline front sway bar D-link bushes, Whiteline H/D steering rack bushes and a Whiteline front camber kit.

This is the area I'm currently working on as I'm going by the philosophy of handling first, then power. In it's current state, the car is real fun on the twisties, but there is always room for improvement!

Future mods will include:
Whiteline front castor kit
Cusco front strut brace
Whiteline adjustable rear sway bar
Whiteline rear camber kit
Cusco rear strut brace
Whiteline lower b-pillar brace
Possibly coilovers or a noice revised quality, spring and shock combo.

RIMS AND TYRES
Current rims are 17' Alstadt chromos. While being a stylish(Well, I think so haha) rim, they are heavy so they will make way for a smaller diameter, light-weight rim in the future. Not sure what rims yet...

Anyways, thanks for reading guys.....

peace

ATMOSR, your set up with all that whiteline gear would be an absolute hoot to drive! Have you considered putting in a U12/12 SR20DET?

Yea, i'm pretty happy with it eh!
Should handle even better when I get my other goodies in! 8)

Yea, I have considered it, but prefer the reliability and response of an N/A tuned machine(not to mention the sound ohhh yea...) I suppose it depends on how you drive, but the sr20 N/A 'box(especially 3rd) doesn't take too kindly to the added torque and strain placed on by the DET motor. (unless you've got the cash for a PAR gearset haha)

I want something I can just get in and drive all day every day, and not experience any probs, since it is my daily driver. If I was going to go turbo:
1-I would go the RNN14 DET; and

2-The car would be a weekend car only

Oh and roar_ek, the brakes will be upgraded suitably to either a mild setup consisting of AD22VF(N15 SSS/GTiR) calipers and discs, or a more hard core setup consisting of HCR32 GTS-T 4 spots and DBA discs. 8)

Repco turned out to be a wild goose chase. Fucking plebs don't know what they're doing.

As for PGA... I'll bite my tongue.

I'm with mo, get some Buddyclubs from JDMyard.com

dont bother with sr16ve. from what i've read they perform pretty much like an sr20de. get an sr20ve..stroke it to 2.2L and aim for 200+kw atw lol.

My sss is far from fast. but it still spins the tyre like crazy..no doubt even more so when i get the poncams in..i suggest you look for an lsd.

ATMOSR
11-04-07, 10:50 PM
the 16ve's like an sr20de? damn! yea, the 20ve is sounding pretty damn good!
Haha, yea 2.2 ve would be awesome!

what model SSS do you have, and what mods?

Yea, nismo lsd is on the cards for the future fo sure mate.

mqt

Yea the sr16ve aint that great. has more hp but no torque so pretty much an sr20de with i/h/e will beat it. ohh and dont take my talk of the 2.2ve seriously, if u hang around the pga forums a lot you'd know what i was talking about..

neways,
i drive a moody blue 99 n15s2 sss
with:
Hurricane extractors
hi-flow cat
2" cat back
ss hurricane muffler + 3.5" tip
k&n pod filter
Par lightened flywheel.
Exedy organic hd clutch.
N15 SSS rims with Dunlop Direzza dz101 tyres.
King low springs + stock shocks
Whiteline adjustable rear swaybar
VZR rear strut brace

and i've got tein flex coilovers and tomei poncams coming over from japan.

i'll be looking at an LSD in the future as well..along with edfc for the teins and a chipped ecu to make the most of the mods.

I havent really given it all... Plus my suspension setup is absolutly shiiiite atm!

Ill take it to the track/pac when i get all my suspension goodies done!

still you can plant your foot mid corner and it just pulls u into the apex!

that sounds great!

So, the nismo is a worthwhile mod (albeit, an expensive one)?
