New speculation suggests that the Nissan brand might unite with the world of formula one racing in the near future.
Also reporting a link between the Japanese carmaker and former team owner Alain Prost, French newspaper 'Le Journal du Dimanche' said Nissan could join the grand prix grid in 2008.

Hang on....Nissan is owned by Renault...and Renault just won the F1 Championship. So why would Renault want Nissan in F1 so that it could compete with itself?
...it's kinda like Lexus entering F1 so that it can take on Toyota?:)
Edit: I suppose it's no siller than Peugeot vs Citroen in WRC :D

I dont think they are that closely related...I think its like 44% owned by Renault and 15% of Renault owned by Nissan or something.
Lexus and Toyota are like VW & Audi more brotherly than a partnership if you get me. lol

maybe the red bull engines will be branded Nissan?
i also fail to see y Nissan wants to enter...
Ntensity: Totoya and Lexus are more like father & son than brotherly ;)

Think laterally. With two teams in F1, that's twice the chance of winning!
It's not unusual anyway. HSV currently runs three teams in the Supercars. It doesn't matter to the big wigs which one wins, they're still making money either way.

they might buy into another team?
Seems like excellent news for F1? I'm not an avid follower of the sport but I'd pay more attention were Nissan involved.

Ryan, check the post date...Thread is almost 4 years old! :)
What on earth. Hahah! I was in the thread about JF's R32, and at the bottom in the 'Similar Threads' section this thread was number one on the list. I was interested, clicked it and didn't even think to check the date. Haha.
Just to show I'm not mental. ;)

I've never noticed that similar threads box or clicked a link, and it didn't occur to me that it wouldn't be new threads. Lucky I didn't come in here talking like I know about it.
So are Nissan in F1 now or what? :P

Obvious? I don't follow.
I'd say it has something to do with the whole thread/story being about Nissan ENTERING F1 that gives it away that Nissan isn't currently in F1....
Did you miss the bit where the original post was four years old? ;) That's why I asked.
