The MX-5 Mania formula is strong with this car. I had a fair bit of Mania influence in my old MX-5 too. Their stuff definitely works. :)

And PS: That's an insane amount of power there for an MX-5... damn that be so much fun to drive fark!

I have not driven it yet, as we only got it back 2day and im not to keen 2 drive it in these slipperey conditions :S

But yer it goes hard...

It was doing a 1:13 at wakefield when it was n/a (it a 1.6L) Hopefully will be doing 1:08/9's

Keep in mind Skaife in his V8 Supercar does 1:09 there and David Rodatz in the mania SP does 1:05

Do you mean the current V8 supercars? Or are these older ones?

What turbo is on the mx5 to be making that much power at 7psi?

pretty sure the v8 supercars get around 1:00 or lower at wakefield.

Positioning of intake is in an area of low pressure just under the windscreen.

Otherwise, nice car... would suck to be a passenger though!

thumbs up to mx5mania as well, a true enthusiasts company with friendly service.

The times are for the big V8 Supercars (that they racing atm) It was his quilifying lap so im sure he was going very hard :P

Umm, The intake is the mania Cold air intake it is great, i dont really know much bout it, it looks like it does suck air from the cabon tho, sounds like it 2 so it must :P :) Lol

The turbo is GT27/28 (forgot wich 1 )

it is aimed 2 make the power higher up so it better for the track (corners)

VTECMACHINE & ICEMAN u on the passanger list for a ride :P

Yer, it really does show that weight is more important then power (although power important 2 :P)

but most importantly driver skill ( although the old man got more skill and more experience then me :) )

Dave R

I dont think many ppl expect it from this car... we got the intercooler sprayed black and all... they hear a blow off valve and think where the [email protected][email protected] it came from :P

I'll have 2 get back 2 u with some dyno sheets.. dont know how accurate these figures are  but they do seem correct (im sure what they said at the shop is correct though)

It gets cold air from behind the fire wall. between the bonnet & windscreen.

must sound absolutley insane. Turbo & the induction roar. 8) 8) 8)

180kw.....thats just insane. 8)

nice.

john bowe in his old nations cup F360 holds the WP record at 58.9 or so.

which dyno was 180rw? not manias?
also who did the cage?
can a passenger sit with that cross bar?

Dave R
05-11-06, 01:49 AM
Mania's dyno did it but it has been fixed now....

Yes a passanger can fit perfectly in that roll cage, just going 2 put some padding as it can lead 2 brusing of head :P hehe (and it from mania)
