View Full Version : [Syd] DIN gauges

It'd be nice if someone had a Defi DIN unit lying around (Justin..? :P), but I'm open to other options as long as they are not "Auto Gauge". Specifically looking for Water temp, oil temp and oil pressure gauges.

Anyone out there have anything? :)

Can't seem to find any info on the Saber DIN-sized gauges, does it come as a whole unit like the Defi? I have no idea how to navigate Yahoo Auctions JP

If you dont want to go Rice and want proper gauges, give these guys a call...

General Auto Instruments 9649 1442

They do proper race gauges for all the IPRA cars :D

Am I right in also assuming the Defi needs the Control Unit to work, and doesn't come with senders?

Keven, thanks but that sounds like overkill lol. This is for a Swift with a stock engine (and a broken engine temp gauge in the cluster)

Defi Gauge $200
Defi Controller $150

'Race' gauge $45
Sender unit $20

Not stressing about people breaking into your car for your gauges...

Their "race" gauges are $45?
Ok I'll give them a call. Thanks for the tip!

Only 52mm gauges from General Auto Instruments :(

16-01-08, 11:22 AM
how big do you want it jonno.
52cm ?

you cant fit bigger than 52mm (2inch) into DIN panel

16-01-08, 11:28 AM
Wait 52mm is 2 inches right?! Hahahah yeah that IS the size I was looking for
Will call them again hehe

^^ defi din unit does not require the control unit to work...

as it doesnt offer the reply function or alarm function as found in the BF series gauges.

Its a 'clean' way of having gauges imo as it just slides into your DIN slot. Overall look is stock as oppose to having individual gauges mounted on the A pillar or on top of the dash...

I bought my defi DIN from jdmyard

Thanks for the tip Sriram! Still, going by the prices I've found it's gonna end up costing more than my new engine LOL. Can't quite justify that right now :P

Anyone got a 2nd-hand unit they wanna sell? :D
