nice..

so what do you think of them?

lovesil
05-07-06, 10:41 PM
Wow! that's 100K out of your dad's pocket in 1 day. For MPS, it's only a part time 4WD. Most of its time is on front wheel only.

gooooo mazda

Evan

The clutch on the MPS is funny but you get used to it.. Its got great torque and next to no lag. Dad said there is a pipe you can replace off the turbo or something that gives an extra 40hp at the wheels, according to american sites. But yeah there quite quick in gears.. 3rd gear 80-120 is like 3.6 sec :o thats like quicker than a carrera according to Wheels tests.
Very quick car..

The RX8 i haven't driven yet.. But i have test driven a yellow one.. I think there gear ratios are too long.. 2nd gear lasts till like 110-120km/h.
But the handling is fantastic.. Just need more power.. The MPS would blow it into the weeds me thinks.

Evan
06-07-06, 10:52 AM
I actually went off at him when he said he bought an rx8.. I said you could have got an EVo MR VIII.

:P

Evan
06-07-06, 03:08 PM
The rx8 sits a lil high.. What is available for them suspension wise?
JIC coilovers? TEIN?

Honest opinion on dads rims on the rx8 please lol

http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/255/newcars076cg5.jpg

I think they are growing on me. :P but i guess thats as good as you can get without spending a motza on RAYS or something like that.
He is 57 but, he acts like a young JDM hoon :P He literally cleans it after it is driven.. everytime!

Here is his beloved 4" Magnaflow tips :P

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2519/newcars072fo0.jpg

Its really nice to drive! Very impressed.
The Mazda 6 is quite laggy i think.. due to exhaust restrictions me thinks.
You can't really rev it past 5,500 without the boost falling off. but its midrange oomfh is amazing.
So short shifting at 5,500rpm is the best way to drive it.. which is kinda annoying.
I think an after market exhaust will sort it..

6.5/10

^ i rate it.

too skinny for the car or maybe the car needs to be lowered.

I reckon they are pretty nice - the colour is great, but I think a "fuller" rim would suit the bulbous RX-8 more. Thin spokes tend to make larger cars look top-heavy. But yeah it looks pretty high... the problem with the RX-8 is that those huge arches will make almost any wheel look tiny! Love the exhaust, looks great.

17-09-06, 03:32 PM
Are thay OzzyTyres specials ? Look ok actually .... as mentioned, lowering would make it look 10x better :)

lovesil
17-09-06, 04:09 PM
I think the magnaflow exhaust looks hot! And the rims......looks abit skinny, but i must admit it do kinda grow on me after looking at it a few times.

Dad has gone crazy again.
The rx8 was writen off in the Newcastle flood of 2007 :P
and the MPS is too old now.. 17,000 km lol
So he is getting a new Audi A6 in black with a computer chip taking it to 180kw from 125kw. Also using Lenso 19x8.5 wheels.
The other car wil be an Audi TT 3.2 V6 in red.

Geez

Garth Ivers
29-06-07, 01:20 PM
nice selection..
he likes to keep it in the family eh?

Evan
29-06-07, 01:22 PM
The A6 has a deal on it with 4% on finance.
So it wasn't much more than having 2 mazdas.
Hopefully i can drive them haha

A TT?? What is your dad turning into a rich chink teenager?? lol j/k

Lose one car, buy another two ^^ I like that idea.

Evan
30-06-07, 12:49 AM
Most of the motivation was to get automatics due to him loosing function in his left arm from sholder cancer.
So its a bit of a bummer. At least he can still drive around.. Before we hated autos lol
But i guess the audis have the brilliant auto box's

Thanks shifty.
TCCA motorsports is hooking me up with some H&R springs. 40mm lower.

Evan

Well we ordered the TT 3.2 v6 with
extra leather pack.. Its red with black interior. I think we should have gone white with red leather but it was too late.
Also he is looking at the enkei rpf1 becasue he keeps goign on about 10" wide in the rear. So i guess we might get them aswell.
But as i said earlier, he had to start driving autos due to cancer in his shoulder. Now its spread down his arm and into areas of his back.. its very aggressive. They are seeing today whether he has to get his arm off or not bother. So We believe he has about 12months or so to live. He should have the TT for something nice as a last car of 40 or so in his life. So for an oldschool modder down on his luck.. i would appreciate if u guys said a pray for the old man. :(
cheers

rim spokes are abit too thin for my liking..but nevertheless still suits the car well. great purchase!

Evan
26-10-07, 11:29 PM
The audi is amazing to drive.. it has a cvt gearbox and it uses every bit of power it has and then makes it feel like double.
At 140km/h its putting along under 2000rpm and 180 km/h feels like nothing!
The thing only has 125kw but it feels like 170kw easy.

Cappuccino
27-10-07, 10:00 AM
one thing i noticed about alot european cars partically germany cars is that they can cruise at high speeds like its nothing i guess it helps they have to autobarn. Its a 6 speed cvt box? speaking of audis saw a new R8 last night OH MY GOD!!!! pure pr0n only saw for it 2 secs cause it was flying sounds hot too.

Evan
