Ok, So VIP cars have to be super low, yes? Has to look like this, yes?

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/MX5_Dorifto/5232-1.jpg

Of course! So I then go and buy Tein Super Street coilovers for the Luce, and I get FC RX7 ones since they don't make them for the Luce. The FC ones should be shorter bodied too, for more travel when slammed. Thing is, I didn't know exactly how slammed it would be...

So over the weekend I fit the Teins, and boy is it low:

I even get the VIP-mandatory rear camber that only juuuust tucks the tyre in the guard:

Tough!

Hang on...maybe that's TOO low? *scratched head*
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/MX5_Dorifto/Kids107.jpg

Oh shit...maybe I haven't thought this thru...
http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m255/MX5_Dorifto/Kids110.jpg

Maybe if I go really slow I'll be able to get it out of the driveway? Er...nope.

So...I guess this leaves me in a quandary :D :D

Anyone wanna buy some Tein Super Street for FC, brand new in box, instructions, stickers and height adjustment tools, etc. Never driven...ok driven 90cm backwards and fwds, and during that 180cm no corners or bumps were encountered so I think I can say that they are still brand new :D :D

could you adjust it abit higher? that sucks about the driveway issue, cause it sure looks nice the way it is now :(

It's all the way to the top mate....and while I can make up some 15mm spacers to sit it slightly higher, the springs are likely to sag by that much anyway as they settle in.

Part of the problem is the zaust which hangs too low....I can get that changed I spose (but that would require being able to get it out of the driveway, which currently isn't possible)....and with such little clearance right in the middle of the car, the underside will constantly be hitting the road as you drive....I mean that's not a very big mobile phone :D

This just simply isn't going to work.... :( But I don't mind experimenting so at least I can say I tried....but yea, looks tough, huh? Shame I can't drive it anywhere :D :D

Yes, it gets sorted out by removing the Teins and selling them :) I don't mind, I kinda knew this was going to happen, but I was in a hurry before my Japan trip and didn't have enough time to research whether it'd work. Anyway, my loss is someone (with an FC's) gain...

Unfortunately it's hard to get shocks for this car (no Koni, Bilstein or KYB) so I think the only option is to go ADM and fit Monroe Gas shocks, and then get custom 1in-down springs to match.

U need to start driving sideways in and out the garage .... The rx7 sussy would of been ok if that wasnt at the heighest setting already! As others have said, if u want true VIP stylin, Airbags are the only way to go. Ive heard sydneys roads are attrocious, and anything lower than above pics wouldnt even be driveable... even as a weekender instead of daily? Is your driveway on a bitch of an angle?

HMmmm.. pics look deceiving at how low it is .... Ive had cars that appear lower than that (where tye IS tucking under the guards) ... hell, even the echo i had sat about 8cm off the ground with me inside at lowest point without a bodykit. ..... u learn to get used to it and know your limits :) (pic below is with no-one in it)

Idea.. would doubling up the bumpstop height help ? Nah .. scrap that ...

Don't know. We need pics in the light. Just drive your VIP out of the garage and take it somewhere in takes some pics :) Prefferably with alot of speed bumps.

Yeah that JDM car has a front lip.

I reckon that if you look at where my centre-caps line up against the lines on the door, I think that I'm prolly the same height at the back and maybe an inch lower at the front. His car is still bloody low tho.

ps it's no point looking unreal if I can't drive anywhere and ppl have to come to my house to see it :D

that's hot!! i like it! :)

Just lay a rectangular piece of rubber on that part of the driveway/garage and drive in/out on an angle. When the exhaust touches the driveway, it won't scratch! That's what I have to do :P
