The RX8 looks awesome. So what made you dump the RX8 for the Zed?
Yeah, I've always been torn between these 2. I prefer the looks of the RX-8 (as long as it's got the full kit), but the Z's got more power if I recall. Hmm!
4AGE: I was thinkin' the same thing ;)

Yep the Zed has more power. I personally think it looks a lot nicer.. however I could never live with a 2 seater.
hey mate,
i actually saw your car the other day out very close to bell hehe:) looked awesome. whats the status with the Z atm?

I love that Rx8 - why did you sell it?
Are you a Dr?
I prefer to think he's a fan of Valentino Rossi ;)
As for why he sold it;
Thanks guys. umm change well, needed something faster though the roadster is quite heavy.. still both cars are very nice

Handling-wise the RX-8 is faster. Power-wise the 350Z is quicker. So it depends on where you are, and how you drive.
On an open, flowing race track where you're meant to "slow in, fast out" the power-on ability of the 350Z will probably see it finish first. Whenever the car mags get a pro driver to run hot laps, the 350Z inevitably runs a bit faster.
On a tight set of switchbacks, where balance and the ability to change direction and hold a higher average speed rather than a higher corner exit speed are more important, the RX8 with its lower mass and will probably get away. I have yet to go on a drive with an RX8, but I wouldn't mind it.
A dude at my work has this car now...
Very nice indeed!

That license plate holder has to go. It just ruins the lines of the nose.
There are two giant holes in the bar under the cover, but if you just stick your plate over it then you'll be fine.

i've tracked it a few times already, but i don't plan until going again next year coz i don't have an oil cooler and radiator yet and my mate borrowed my stock wheels..

Unless you're running FI the OEM heat exchangers will cope just fine.
Very nice, i like the new zeds, but nothing compared to the old ones, the Twin Turbo just flys, when it is running properly.
Man i have a feeling that this Zed is gonna be one quick one ..
but then again the STI might be better..
Mikey go gate ~!!~!

I drove a 350Z Roadster with the APS Twin Turbo kit last night. Its been a bit detuned from the advertised spec, so its only pulling around 270rwkW.
Seriously, lock your doors. I am more than willing to sell all of your kidneys to get it.
here a few snaps i took of the zed today..
spotted u today, just drove past from oppsite side. I was in silver v35. nice rims mate, where did u get them from? are they rays gram serises? more dish than mine racing hart
hey man, i seen the rx8 before the other day with the same plates looks hot, so does the Z
Nice Z mate,
another Z to add to the club, we're slowly growing in numbers....one day the nissans will rule the world...mwuhahahaha...<insert Evil Laugh>
Seriously, you've made the right choice from the RX8, there's no replacement for torque when you drive on the street.
Nice 350, i love the rims man.
Your RX8 was top notch, i saw it quite a few times at BEL.

I was torn between getting the 350 and my 8 but I just couldnt justify myself getting a 2 seater. What mods are you running and get some clear corners!
I heard from the guys at BEL that you split your original mazdaspeed bumper on a sand trap...ouch!
I didnt end up getting the Z because I felt that it handled like a whale compared to the rx8.
Regardless, it looks absolutely awesome and Im sure you will have heaps of fun with it!
Congrats on the purchase and hope you have a great time on the forum!

I'll try driving s_vtec's RX8 on a nice mountain road to see them comparatively, but as my car's handling hasn't been stock for 2 years its really hard for me to compare. His car is stock, so its not fair to compare with what my car is like now.
I drove it around the block on Thursday. I did like what I felt, though. Its a lot lighter in the inputs than the Z, which makes it a lot more responsive initially.
What I will say is that, point to point, the extra midrange of the Z makes it a quicker car on anything bar Initial-D style downhill runs. The Z may do it with less finesse, but the Z isn't exactly a lead-tipped arrow that's only good in a straight line. Its just a fair bit heavier than the RX8, both in terms of kerb weight and control weight.
hey cuz, good to see the 350 man! its looking tops!
btw welcome to the forum!
nice 350z micheal.... hahahaha..
