View Full Version : F1!

Hey guys... Just wanted to find out how many people have been to an Formula 1 event in melbourne, or even around the world?

I really want to go... but last time I found out it was a bit pricey. But now i've kinda learnt how to manage my money. So I have been saving for the F1. would any JDMSTers be up for a trip to melbourne to watch the F1? Either 2007, or 2008?

I heard the atmosphere is absolutally AMAZING... if anyone's been, please share the experience. Where to stay... where to go out for the F1 at night? Etc etc...

I've never been, but I can attest to the fact that the atmosphere around the city during the GP is pretty hoppin'.

We'd be happy to put 2 or 3 of you up at our house for the duration. :)

03-12-06, 07:14 PM
Ohhhhh... really! That's very hospitable of you. Well I going to try to convince IcemaN to come down with me. Would you come to the F1 Van?

03-12-06, 07:27 PM
Depends, is it your shout? :P

I'm not really into F1, I tend to prefer watching full bodied car races like SuperGT, V8SC, etc. That said, if my budget at that time is okay, I might!

03-12-06, 07:37 PM
hmm... if ya let me stay at your house.. i'm sure I can shout ya! haha

03-12-06, 07:38 PM
Then that's a deal cuz!

03-12-06, 07:45 PM
awsome dude... I'll get on it. Dunno if it will be this coming session. But definately either 2007 or 2008. I know 2008 sounds a little far away. Anyone else from Sydney up for it?

03-12-06, 08:43 PM
my friends drove down on the saturday night, got tix, watched it and drove back up to sydney sunday night
who needs accomodation

Me... cos I actually wanna go out and stuff there. I'm sure some of the JDMST guys would take me out to see the town. Dunno if i'll remember it... but that's another issue.

You guys, F1 is the BEST motorsports experience youll ever get as a spectator... if any of you go you have to watch (or listen) at the braking point at the turn 6 chicane...

these cars are accelerating in 7th gear through (what looks like) the most enclosed area of the circuit and hit the brakes and downshift to second at about 80m before the corner..

"screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaammm, then boom crackle and pop"

07-12-06, 12:36 PM
youll also get to experience different driving styles there as drivers like button brake a little earlier but are easier into the corner and alonso braking super late and darting into the corner like a mad man!

07-12-06, 12:43 PM
the best part is when you get there before the session starts and you can hear the echos of the cars a mile away and then you wait anxiously for a minute or so until the first car comes flying towards you.. then you get that shivery feeling...

hahahah LOL.. shows how much of a fanatic i am when it comes to F1!!

Me, Justin... anyone else? lol

12-12-06, 12:05 AM
I went last year, via work - corporate tix.

Trust me, its an experience.

F1 is a def must!!

At first i was going to F1 Melbourne, but then i thought, if im gonna spend cash on hotels and F1 tix, then i may as well make the most of it. So, another country it was! Malaysia Sepang March 2005
