i have one almost exactly like the one you posted (yes that me in the stig helmet brash posted...)
yes they are registrable
deus used to sell them (tw200 is out of aussie producton in 2008 onwards) they may have 1-2 left now, prices for one like you pictured is 14k +ORC
im selling mine soon, 10k ride it away
comes with all the LED and carbon goodies etcetc
Lols Deus Ex Machina is such a wank. They are those bikes (there are a few models they use for this style of bike, but the coolest one is the fat back tyre bike, the Yamaha TW200). From what I hear Deus Ex just buy off the shelf parts, bolt them on and sell them for a 300% mark up. Even if they don't do that (which I doubt) the prices are crazy. Sorry if anyone bought something from there but seriously $15k? Get out of here.
I'm planning on building one myself in the future, but since the TW200 is quite a new (and rare in Oz) bike I was thinking of perhaps using a quite old farm style bike (which is all a TW200 is, TW stands for Trail Way) as the basis instead and go from there. Basically the reasoning being that old arse bikes are very cheap, and (if the rules are anything like those with cars) there will be alot more leeway with mods on an old bike than a new bike. Something like an XT250 would be a good basis IMHO.
They also use Honda FTR223s, Suzuki Vanvan 200s and a few other bikes as the basis for these type of bikes too. They are very common here in Japan (mainly the TW200), there are at least two within a block of my house. The extended swingarms, exhausts, seats and so on are all off the shelf parts that are easily available here (although I was planning on scratch building stuff for mine).
next march ill be selling.
im in petersham so yeah.
its quite unique compared to the deus stuff, i kinda went for a more motard look rather than the see through thing. so its got all LED lights and carbon front guard, streetfighter mirrors, daytona speedo. all the tricks!
sounds good, easy as hell ride, great learners and city bike.
bloody typical..
since actually looking for one they've all dissapeared and now im headed home
(killing time at airport now - thanks for the epic delay jetstar!!)
((oh thanks also for the whole 1000Y ))
