    S15 ARC turnflow FMIC install

So I got this product a week ago from RMS motorsport and installed it on my s15. I had to take the front bar off...which was simple. just remove the splash guards than the screws and the bar comes straight off.

    INSTALL

next, I removed the standard intercooler which is simple unbolting of screws and some clamps. ( by this time I'd alrady spent over 1 hr, as it was my 1st time). next thing i did was mount the intercooler core with the brackets. it was pretty much a straight fit except that the bracket on the passenger side had to be turned around to fit onto the rail and a little bit of cutting on the rail itself, but this is minimal. ( this also took about 1hr) be careful not to knock the core on the car as it'll dent the fins.

with the core mounted, mount the pipes...following the instructions is pretty crap as its in jap...so just follow the pics...or use some common sense. I had a friend help me install (mugen civic) so he gave instruction. (thanks mate)
Anyway, just connect the clamps up to the piping and it should all connect back to stock piping. (make sure u connect the AFM back if it comes off and all vacuum lines)

Some of the front bar on the driver side needed to be trimmed and also a small part on the passenger side fog light and its a perfect fit back on. No cutting of the battery tray... I did have to cut a small part of the rails to mount the return pipe bracket but thats bout it.

    IMPRESSION

slightly less response, but honestly I don't notice any drop in lag. its very responsive and compared to other FMIC's so I'd highly recommend it although abit expensive, but U get wat u pay for. The ARC logo is sprayed on the core and it looks sweet as!!

the actual fitting isn't perfect, and 1 or 2 of the brackets don't realy line up but but its secure none the less, so nothing to worry about. the silicon is top grade and the clamps are also very good. Only the return pipe connection (1 joint) needed to have the silicon strecthed but it held up fine on the dyno, so no complaints.

overall, I'm very happy with the install and it did take me a long time as i'm a virgin FMIC installer.

    OO congrats Kev..

Wait til winter comes around and u'll feel the responsiveness! HHa

woulda expected it to fit perfectly since its an ARC...
cutting the front bar must of been painful aye.

u had to cut the engine cover? do u mean the Engine Fan Shroud?
i noticed responsiveness was crapper with my greddy fmic, but a boost controller quickly fixed that up..

although cutting anything from your car is never good, i dont see cutting the battery tray as a bad thing.. as if the next owner isnt gunna get a FMIC anyways...

    Enjoy!

That IS a lot of piping... Battery tray choppage ftw!

Have you noticed much difference? Not only in power, but response as well.

Nice write up. If I were to get an intecooler this would be the one I'd be inclined to pick.

What exactly did you have to cut on the passenger side fog light to get it to fit? How does the piping sit with the stock air box and snorkel?

    hi mate,
there is like a small part of the passenger foglight.. piece of plastic...that just gets in the way. hack saw took it of in a minute.
also i have an apexi power intake but this unit is designed to be a direct fit with stock air boc. I didn't have any trouble...neither shoud u.

Now just relocate your airflow meter to that silicon joiner between your chrome pipe and the OEM plastic one, drop the A'PEXi intake and fit one of these instead, and its tsu, tsu, tsu, tsu, tsu time.

My fog lights seemed to clear it fine with no issues...

FYI this cooler easily handles 250rwkw
Plumbing is more but have you noticed the the core is smaller and not as big which already compensates for the extra plumbing...
Also its not the conventional tube fin / bar plate core, its delta fin.

Personally I wouldn't hack away at my battery tray also battery tray hole is defectable.

Oh and the piping JUST clears a gruppe M intake I was really worried when I ordered my Gruppe M intake that the piping wouldn't clear.

Here is a picture of mine to add to the collection

VERY HELPFUL post Morph. Exactly what I wanted to see because this would be the intercooler kit I'll get when the time comes and I wanted to be sure if it can clear the exact same intake box I have.

All good mate, there's about a 1cm gap just. I wrapped some foam over the pipe and cable tied it on to try to minimize anything too damaging.

FYI. gktech are developing a similar design front mount which doesn't involve cutting the battery tray.
Their design looks alot better too. Less piping should be less lag. And its expected to cost $600~

Some people might not like it as it doesnt have the same 'look' due to the design.

Very informative, can you still retain your fog lights on a STOCK front bar with this FMIC?
