Intro: Purchased the car in September of this year with a blown headgasket. Pulled the head off to get it machined and what do you know it had gone soft, took 2 other heads down to be checked out and you wouldn't believe it they are soft as well. (what is it with starlets)
Anyway since then new (stock) engine has gone in and the car is being prepped to compete in Tighe Cams Hill Climb Series and IPRA and I thought as this section of the forums suggest I should keep a Diary of the progress.
Model: 1991 Toyota Starlet GT
Engine: Stock 4EFTE
Modifications:
Exhaust: 2.5" Dump Pipe into 2.5" system with Hi-Flow Cat.
Intake: Air Filter - making up an intake atm, but holding off as the stock turbo wastegate arrangement is already creeping towards boost cut. Going to wait for new Speedvision CT9 Hybrid Turbo and manifold to turn up before bothering with the intake.
Suspension: KYB Struts, King Springs, Whiteline Anti-lift and Caster kit and Whiteline Camber Bolts. Coilovers are on the cards but not a major hassle atm.
Electronics: HDI Boost Controller, Apexi RSM (what speed cut?) on the cards is a Microleb LT10S.
Interior: Stripped (still need to finish removing sound deadening,), RPM 4 Point Harness on the way is a Speedway Motors Quick release and Boss Kit, RPM Suede steering wheel, Cobra Monaco seat and *fingers crossed* in January the Car goes upto Nambour Radiators for new "Bolt-in" roll cage seeing as weld in are illegal and all.![]()
