Perisher looks seeeeedy. I'm heading there on Friday![]()
wow perisher does look shite as. def hitting up thredbo!!
98 Forester GT
93 Skyline GTS-T
so yeah, drove down on saturday to get a few days in.
hit up perisher on sunday, snow was ok but nothing to write home about.
dropped the gf in a lesson but visibility was shit so decided to test the new board out on some little kicks...
got papparazzi'd by the gf, melancholy into winding down the windows.![]()
monday headed over to thredbo, tonnes more cover than perisher, and better conditions, supertrail is pretty much covered from eagles nest to the bottom, so you can get some nice long runs in and decent cover on high noon
the bluff looked almost ridable.. but not quite yet, few more dumps and itll be good.
you'd be silly to go perisher atm.

Anyone been to Mt. Hotham recently? Hows the snow there?
Going to the snow for the first time tomorrow at perisher. Going to give boarding a shot and see how I go haha
From what i recall it was pretty easy the first time I snowboared, you used to skate didnt you Paul? Its almost the same.
I didnt know how to stop though, or slow down, so I just fell over.
And snow hurts! When its being thrown at you, Its not like in the cartoons, its like being pelted by a rock.
Hahahaahah. Yeh I skated for a while.. Yeah should be alright hopefully
Just got back from NZ, top notch. Cardrona is the bomb
9 days and ill be NZ down at Queenstown brew! Can't wait!
short term countdown = 9more days until next w/e trip
long term countdown = ~4months and a week until whistler opens for the season
cannot fucking wait..
Haha its surely going to be a hectic week I can assure you off that!
I rode 3 days at Thredbo last year and wasn't that impressed by it compared to Perisher. Broke my ribs there too so not exactly in a hurry to go back![]()
I was down last week 11th - 16th. Cover's not the best but the snow on Wed/Thur was nice. Totally forgot about School Holidays when we booked, worst move ever! 40min line for our first lift on the quad chair Thur morning![]()
Zalis was icey as fuck and chopped hard. Lower Rollercoaster and Excellerator were loads of fun as usual, worked on my speed a bit this year and none of the guys I was with could stay with meMt Perisher was OK off to the right, still 10 - 15 min wait for a lift though. Boarder cross track was average, way too small/short/shit though. Was a bit peeved that they kept closing the park early too. Hit the second booter for the first time on our last day and came back for another go to find it shut

Had a lesson for the first time on Thur which was kinda interesting. The first instructor we were going to have was a Canadian and a bit of a dickhead about the fact it was our first lesson. Ended up with an older Aussie guy. Didn't really tell me much I hadn't worked out on my own other than proper riding postioning, being anticpated etc.
I'm not going to contribute any further to Paul.S' ranting about how shit it was. It's Aus you make the best of it.
Cardrona <3
Off to the left of Excellerator on Tues morning![]()
Looking a bit better on the drive in on Wed
Mr Plow!
Getting there

I'm pretty fucking shit at snowboarding haha
Great shots there instigatorcompletely agree about your comment on making the most of it with aus snow.. as long as you can still have fun out there thats all that matters. I just stongly encourage everyone to save up some coin and venture up north to canada and see what it's like there. The only downside is you feel evenmore ripped off paying as much as we do to ride locally when you see the amount of terrain and quality of the snow over there.
Love the flex in the banana.. next time i'm on my weapon i'll try and grab a photo of the flex in that since it's pretty stupid. Yes board also has a fair amount aswell despite being relatively still between the feet.. not much effort at all and I had a great tail press/butter down one of the rollers on front valley. Great going from a board with no tip and tail to one that does, makes pulling off stuff like that a hell of a lot easier.
as for billy.. loving the window winding action on that jump haha
