    quick wiring/electrical question

So I picked up a horn for the MX5 (whose horn is piss weak) under the whole bigger is better thing. This one came off of a Commodore, and interestingly is made by Hella in Germany.

Anyway, the MX5s horn has a single wire, so when the horn is pressed the circuit is completed, and the attachment to the body acts as the ground. But this one has two wires, so I am at a loss as to how to wire it up. Could anyone explain the destination/function of these two wires??

    Thanks

    Commy horn

MX5 horn has only one of those wires

PM Bye Evo he has a good knowledge with electrical issues and should be able to help you out. He is located in Hornsby too so not too far from you place!

black should be negative, and green positive.

give it a quick blip on a battery to test

    Cool, got it

Just so everyone knows; bigger is not always better; the smaller MX5 horn is louder

But to run them both at the same time, could I splice the positive wire (going to MX5 horn), and run that to both horns?? It wouldn't cause any troubles would it? Sorry, I'm really new with electrical stuff, and I know that a small mistake can end up being a massive one when it comes to electrics

It may or may not work as there might not be enough voltage to power two horns as they are connected n parallel (voltage splits).

So it may or may not need another relay? I'm not sure.

I'm sure someone can elaborate or even correct me, as im not sure myself.

Mine didn't for a bit; turns out the solder had come off within the steering boss; so no contact was being made between button and horn.

Haha, they have the arrroooggaahhh horns at autobarn, I think it's called "Klaxxon"
I was so close to getting it, I ended up getting the one that bye evo posted above, it sounds like one of those hand held airhorns. Pretty loud, definitely toned down my horn usage, I only use it sparingly now, haha.
