I drove a Jimny up in Broome last year, it was hilariously fun. One of those cars that even though it's slow, you can have a ball in it ie trying not to get the thing on two wheels by going around a roundabout. It was great on the beach too.

    The Little 4x4 That Could

Early Suzuki 4x4s were 2 stroke, with tiny 550cc engines churning out 35ps at a gazillion rpm Seems odd to put a scooter engine in a 4x4 but hey, it works

Big fan of the Japanese 4wd scene, and 4wding in general. Love all series of Landcruiser especially, except for the 50. Love those Zooks too, pretty much the only small off roader that can actually go offroad!
    200 series:

    100

    80

    60

Notice lack of bullbar? Most 4wd's here run bullbars...i hate them. I bought a stock bar for my 80 series to replace the TJM.

yep those older ones are what my friend runs on the farm, i thought my depth perception had fucked up when i first saw them lol. runs them on cross ply tires and being so light they had no troubles getting anywhere.

i dont know where these things are hiding! in my last 4 trips to japan ive been from hiroshima to sapporo and apart from a few kei sized 4x4's jimny, serria etc... ive seen two big 4x4's

its the complete opposite to australia... its like, how many true kei cars do you see on the road here... wagon R, diahatsu move, Daihatsu mira's (well kei's in japan 1.0's etc.. here) thats how many 4x4's are over there in the citys... or less than even.

not saying theres no 4x4's, just saying they aint in any citys ive been too.

yeh it was hard for me to find them then every now and then you would see an 80 series 'cruiser with lexus badges and v8 rumble jacked up higher then anything you will see on our shores just cruising past.

200 series landcruisers shit me to tears, their always breaking. i spent $50k on my 2006 nissan navara ST-R, two days later i took it to the local state forest got it bogged, sprayed with mud, dents and scratches everywhere, i love it.
