Yeah, if their just notifying us that they've sold the vehicle by handing a notice of disposal in, aslong as the registered owner has signed the "seller signature" area, then anyone can hand it in. If your the buyer, its a different story, the person whose bought the vehicle has to sign the reciept/rego papers and also the form and also the representatives authority.
Hi mate.
Yeah, you can leave the other car under your name and nsw rego. What i suggest you do is to redirect your rta mail, as in mailing address, to your inlaws address so you know they'll get the renewal papers, because if they dont get them, you would need to send signed and written consent for them to get the renewal papers.
As they are not making changes to the registration details, they can pay it without hassles. But, as stated above, getting replacement label/making changes to rego, you would need signed/written consent from you.
And your right about the transfer/stamp-duty situation.
Hope that helps.
Hey man, got a question:
My dad's got a G35 Infiniti (grey import) and I'm on my P1 license. It says on the RTA website that I can't drive it as it is a 'high performance vehicle'. It is a high performance vehicle, but not as strong as the non-turbo XR6 ford's and SV6 commodore's. I don't get why it is a restriction? The car is a six cylinder, only 2.5 litre (lol) and 4 speed auto..
does RTA have a thing against jap cars?
from here: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/...tions_dl1.html
It would not surprise me if the RTA geared their legislative authority towards protecting Australian brands. But the people who wrote this particular law in NSW have been widely panned by the motoring community as ignorant and out of touch.
But i think your question is also a bit stupid. You say that it is a high performance vehicle and then question its restriction?
thanks Neil..
Legend !!
Do you have any info on te full licence exam besides the PDF and questions to expect?

let me rephrase then lol, the G35 is not as strong in comparison to SV6/XR6 but the G35 has the restriction.
hey, im just wondering can you get custom plates when your register a car with a blueslip?? or do i have to get standard issue plates first then order custom plates?? cheers
Didn't realise there was a RTA thread...I already posted n the "plate fee increase" thread...
Do you know if they're willing to replace my front plate free of charge? The plates are just over 2 years old and I noticed the flasking while washing my car...
High pressure water or constant sponging over the plate will definately cause more flaking.
