F1 2011 (We want your views and reviews)

Formula 1 2011 is on the eve of release in Australia (Sept 22). We ask the question, is it worth a look?
Historically the F1 game has been full of promise but did not really delivered great game play. The release of 2010’s version did restore the people’s faith in this type of game and it was pretty awesome!
If what Codemasters is reporting is accurate, then gamers and F1 fans can expect F1 2011 to live up to all expectations. Red Bulls number 2 car might actually have a chance to win the championship!

A quick look at the latest F1 2011 trailer -

The new Co-op Championship mode allows two players to drive for the same FORMULA ONE™ team in pursuit of the coveted FIA FORMULA ONE CONSTRUCTORS' WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP.
Available online, the Co-op Championship mode brings two friends together in the same team as they worktogether for the Constructors' crown whilst also competing separately for the Drivers' Championship title.
This brand new feature for F1 2011 gives players a taste of the intense sporting and political rivalry that exists between drivers in FORMULA ONE teams as they balance personal glory and directing the development of the car in their favor with achieving team goals.

Check out the Developer Diary Videos (Co-Op Championship) released this week:

F1 fans will appreciate the accuracy in its apparent adaptation of the real F1 season. F1 2011 will mirror all actual 2011 F1 tracks, its seasoned drivers, cars, rules and regulations.
Other F1 simulation features will also include:
    • KERS (80BHP boost)
    • Use of the Drag Reduction System (DRS) on straights
    • Contrasting 'Prime' and 'Option' Pirelli tyres
Like F1 2010, don't expect to pick this one up and ace it straight away. Gamers will need to learn about the cars, how each corner feels, how to drive in certain weather conditions, and the strategies behind tyre choice and pit stops.
True to the 2011 F1 Season and if it’s anything like the previous F1 2010 version, it won’t disappoint F1 fans.
Let us know what you think and what your expectation will be? Who here has played the F1 2010? And what did you think of it?
Also EB games are also offering a racer USB stick for all pre-orders of F1 2011. Be sure to check it out.

I've just watched the new Developer Diary no.4

runs through some interesting game features like...

...weaving for tyre temp, Pirelli, Kers battery boost, DRS & the safety car!!!

worth a watch, nothing to write home about.

F1 has hit the stores and reviews are flooding in. Who's played it?

IGN has given the game a massive 8.5 out of ten, but SIM racing fans seem to have a different opinion around the net.

Here's the IGN review if you're interested: http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1194797p1.html

General consensus seems to be that as a racing SIM, it may not tick all the boxes, but as an accurate adaptation of the 2011 F1 season and as a quality racer (perhaps more arcade like) it does deliver!

I have spent a few hours playing it and while i'm not HUGELY impressed, it is holding my attention. It's one of those games that will need some serious hours before making finding a true appreciation.

Here's some gameplay vids for those that haven't yet had a play.

If you've played it, let us know what you think of it...
