i think ben asked that question because sometimes when you take photos.. the things that are supposed to be totally horizontal/vertical/straight is curved..

nice photos everyone.. keep it up! ^__^

oh ... well yeah... wide angle will curve your horizon... using a 50mm will give you the most neutral image... no image distortion, unlike wide and tele lenses.

I thought it was 35mm that was the most neutral? Or is it 35mm only on Digital lens?

Are you talking about SLR or DSLRs? (confused now)

Yeh I'd really like to find out how to stop that distortion, eg. window and door frames.

ummm yeah... I think on DSLR 35mm is equal to about 50mm

50mm is suppose to be the most neutral.

the shooting data from my photos said 48-50mm (had zoom lense)

yeah, the wider the angle the more distorted "out" the image, and the more zoomed the more "in" the distortion.

Yeah your right 50mm is the closest the the natural eye, 50mm is the same as us closing one eye that what we see, anything less will start to curve. And 35mm on a digital with aps sized chip (aka Nikon D50, D70s, D100, Canon 350d, 300d, 20d) is equal to 50mm or there abouts.
