Hey All,
I'm sure a few of you have been to Thailand before so I would like some input as to what things you would recommend, must see, must avoids, travel tips and getting around.
Keeping in mind, I'll be travelling with mrs and two young kids, so partying like a teen is not on the list unfortunately...
Open to all ideas so fire away, pics if you have them of locations you've been to would be great.

go see a ping pong show, take a trip to bangla road at night time, get a suit made, go ride ATV's
other then that avoid the jetskis, get to the hotel and put your passport in the safe so nobody can get to it, anyone ask for a passport of ID tell them to get bent (except cops of course), avoid having jewelry on, and carry only about 3-4000 baht max on you at any one time and avoid flashing AUD in the streets and keep all AUD in the safe at the hotel room...
EDIT!: I forgot to mention go shopping...

Always offer 1/4 of the price first.
And walk away.. see if they call you back for a counter offer..
All depends where your going,
Mbk in Bangkok is great fr shopping and has a nice hotel above it which makes it nice and convenient.
Then there is patong down Phuket way, good for the party/tourist stuff.
Things we did in Thailand
• tiger temple ( pat and hold real tigers)
• elephant ride
• James bond island cruise
• fantasea
• shopping
• beach
• ping pong show
• Death railway / bridge on the river Kwai tour
• had photos with reptiles on the street
Plus heaps of other stuffplenty to do

didn't like phi phi island... smelt like ass...
sure it was a nice place but fuck I just couldn't bare the smells around there half the time...
only thing I recommend is make the most of the cheap drinks... Singha and Leo Beer for something like $1.50, no open bottle law... should have just bought an IV drip and hook it to my veins![]()
Looks like everybody is going to Thailand.
I'm going early march with my gf. Staying at a resort in Phuket. Would love to see any more ideas on what to see and do in Thailand.
who else going in march? ill be there from 14-23. in koh samui on 15-18 then rest of the time in bangkok. if anyone up for a tour we'll meet up and organise a private one with a minibus. thinking of touring from koh samui back up to bangkok but will consune too much time

Just got back from Thailand over new years... I would suggest avoiding Phuket and Phi Phi if you are taking kids.
Bangkok is ok, but it just another city IMO. A few interesting things to do a few hours drive from Bangkok though so worth a few nights there.
I would also recomend Koh Phangan for a few nights. Some nice day tours on the island as well as the surrounding islands, and some really nice resorts on the beaches as well.
Should I visit the tiger temple? Have heard it isn't exactly as it seems there from a few reviews
