Its a CEL, your car is in limp mode, get a scan tool to read/clear codes,
As you can probably guess i had a warning light go off in my wrx tonight (MY07), for no apparent reason!
The air filter light stays on and the cruise control light flashes.
at the end of the day i will probabley have to go to a workshop to plug into a pc, but has any subaru owners had this particular combination of lights/warnings?

Limp mode, pulls a bit of time and you can't use your cruise control. For some reason your ecu thinks something is wrong hence the CEL.
Mechanics have em, or I picked one up cheap off eBay,
what's an air filter light ? if the check engine light and cruise control lights are on the car is in limp mode, could be any pollution related code , is it still driving ok? fair chance its the secondary air pump failure. if it is a failed air pump and you dont want to get new ones let me know , i have a cost effective solution for you. thanks, Ben.
jap plates for sale, pm if interested.
I had a brief look on ebay, it seems there are a few different types, they all look fairly generic and can be plugged into many different types of cars, is there any one that works particularly well for subaru?
Oh i mean, the yellow light to the left of the dash, the emissions control system light. the car is driving fine, but i'm taking it really easy.. I hear these secondary air pumps are not really required.. cost effective solution is to just turn off the warning light and leave it?
(im heading to my mech to get the code read, i will see what the diagnosis is)
