    new helmet??

Summer is here and riding under the scorching heat of the sun is sometimes intolerable although I have my gears and apparels. My main concern is the ventilation of my Scorpion helmet. I really need that this hot weather. So can anyone suggest a great one? A great one with excellent ventilation?

All replies would be highly appreciated.

Get one that fits your head, different brands sit differently.

    Personally I always buy Shoei

Can i suggest an open faced helmet? I have one specifically for spring/summer riding. In summer it is AMAZING. chuck on a pair of half decent sunnies and youre fine. It obviously ventilates really well. Feel great. And theyre pretty cheap for a decent brand one (mine's a shoei) aswell as having the ''full face helmets are safer for your chin'' myth proved to be just that. Something to consider

I think I should stick with full face for full coverage of my head and I think i can find one that has good ventilation.

Shoei has good customer's reviews, and also I found other great ventilated helmets like Icon Alliance I found in this site:

    http://www.jafrum.com/Motorcycle-Helmets

With great features, I think Icon has an excellent ventilation. What do you think? Anyone has experience with Alliance?

Myth my ass. I came off in December on the track, was a lowside but once I hit the dirt I flipped over and proceed to bounce/slide along face first for about 10 metres.

Could easily happen on the road too and would hate to see the aftermath of having an open face on.

An old image from an old study - but notice how ~35% of crashes result in impacts to the chin area alone. If you come off, that's a 1/3 chance of fucking up your face. By getting an open face you're effectively getting 35% less protection.

Any of the big brands "racing" helmets will give you insane ventilation. If it get's too much just ride with the visor up and some sunglasses. Staying hydrated also makes a big difference (I wear a camelbak and drink water from it)

I preferred HIGHWAY 1 JX2 Jet Helmet Silver Met just because it is made for summer use. Exact what you want. Its features can fulfill your requirements. Its Stunning open-face helmet with retractable sun visor. Removable sun peak to boot. Adjustable ventilation at top of helmet with rear extraction vent. Removable comfort lining. It is ECE 22.05 safety certified. I think you should buy this one. It is a complete combination of unique features. It is difficult to find any other stuff like this. What do you say.

KBC VR2R, some very nice graphics, affordable, great ventilation, no head shakes at high speed or shoulder checks.

shoei X-12 is good, it gets noisy though due to how well ventilated it is but prices are 900+ for one
most the inserts are removable and washable for hygiene purposes as well

I love my shark vision R, but ventilation is not amazing, I ride with visor up though.
